Honorable Chairman, Mr. Jewitt,
teachers, fellow students, parents and
guests.
Tonight I have been asked to speak on
behalf of the Hullett Central School's
graduating class of '87.
We have persevered through nine years
of hard work, fun times and extra school
activities such as curling, field trips, con-
certs, cross-country hikes and slo-pitch. I
believe these activities have played just as
important a role in our school lives as the
classroom subjects.
A special thanks in this area to Mr.
Riley, Mr. Milson and Mr. Talbot as they
also create school spirit "Go For Gold:"
And we also enjoyed library, and our
good music programs.
Over the years, things have happened,
well, that makes us a little suspicious
about just what kind of class we are.
Kindergarten. Our parents shining stars
- right'' After kindergarten our teacher
retired.
In Grade 1 they split us in half and in
Grade 2 we were banished to the portable
where "I must do as I am told."
Our Grade 3 teacher has been to
Australia and backhand one of our Grade 4
teachers has gone heavens knows where.
After Grade 6 our princilal left and
following Grade 7 two teachers took a year
leave including our would-be Grade 8
teacher. I wonder why'
However we must have done something
right since we've won the cross-country
championship eight consecutive years:
Our class obviously has people who excel
in different areas and I think industrial
arts and family studies are further proof of
that.
Although there has been several staff
changes, I think they have all done their
very best to prepare us for future educa-
tion, personal and group experience and
should receive very sincere thanks and ap-
preciation for guiding us through these last
nine years with patience and
understanding.
A special thanks to Mr. Griffen for an en -
jinx?
joyable Grade 8 year. As we, the
graduates, look to the future - high school -
we can stand proud to say we came from
Hullett Central
All local high schools say the same, the
students from Hullett Central are best
prepared and educated than any other,
and for this again we thank the staff. And
together as we first walked these halls
together we shall leave with brighter
minds and experiences that will last a life
time.
In closing, I leave the following words:
What is that you hold in our hand'.
Nothing, you say'' Look again.
Every- hand holds some special gifts.
.A hammer, a broom, a pen,
A hoe, a scalpel, an artists brush,
A needle, a microscope,
A violin's bow, a way with words,
In the giving of faith and hope.
What is that you hold in your hand''
Whatever your gift maybe,
It can open your door to abundant life -
You hold in your hand the key.

Now that you've GRADUATED,
