Three to 10 -year-olds will par- ticularly enjoy all of the three performances offered. The series begins on October 3 with the musical pair April and Susan, featuring a dynamic and exciting blend of original songs, poetry and theatre with lots of au- dience participation. Many children will recognize Susan from Mr. Dressup's show. Just in time for Christmas, the Toy Town Troopers will return . to the Clinton Town Hall to perform "The Second First Christmas". Imagine Christmas Eve 1987 at NASA. Jim's last job is to sweep out the space shuttle's cockpit.,Naturally, Jim can't resist trying out the pilot's seat, and sudden- ly is hurtling into space. Join the Troopers to discover what hap- pens when Jim lands back on earth, not in 1987, but in 2087, and nobody's ever heard of Christmas. To conclude the series the committee pre- sent Jest In Time Theatre. This innovative and exciting five member company from Halifax will entertain the adult audience on January 29, and the children's ticket holders January 30. The company's original style of physical theatre weaves together mine, voice, acting and movement. The series features three great Saturday afternoons entertainment, but the best news is the price. For only $8 for a single ticket, or $20 for a family, you can enjoy all the fun. Over 100 tickets are already spoken for, so don't delay. Call the town hall at 482-3997 during business hours, or contact Judy Stuart at 482-9735. A reminder to adult subscription holders - exchange your stub for your ticket for "I ought to be in Pic- tures" as soon as possible to ensure your choice of evening. In 1961, Del Shannon roared out of Battle Creek, Michigan writing and recording four smash hits in that one year including Runaway and Hats Off to Larry. Little Town Flirt was one of his 1962 hits in which the style sounded amazingly like the Beatles, Searchers and Hollies. An early admirer of the Beatles, (with whom he toured in 1963), Shannon was the first American artist to cover one of their songs (From Me To You), several months before I Want To Hold Your Hand was wide- ly introduced in the US. Very few artists have sustained a suc- cessful career for 20 years - even more rare is one who sounds as creative and contem- porary in 1987 as in 1967.
