Crysta Whyte received her 14 year seal. The anthem was sung by the junior girls choir and the director was Marsha Szusz. The organist was Deanna Lyon. A puppet presentation on Noah in the ark was presented by Dave and Caron Snihur and her sister Sheila. This was followed by the promotions. The teachers welcomed the new pupils from the nursery to kindergarten. These pupils were Peter Thomson, Michael Lyons, Jennifer Jackson, Jeremy Heffer and David Stewart. Moving from kindergarten to primary are Tanury Vincent, Angie Konarski, Joey Watkins, Ben 'Thomson, Shannon Scott, Amanda Kennedy, Katrina McGregor, Joey Airdrie and Jeffery Johnston. Lyndsey Salverda and Lusa 'Thompson moved from primary to junior for the girls while the boys making this prove were Kent Shillinglaw, Mark Shepherd, Todd Shaddick and Darrell Bergsma. The girls moving from junior to in- termediate were Sara Lyons, Kara Lee Pot- ter, Denise Hulley, Joanne Wilts, Kim Salverda, Melanie Knox and Michele l iovenlock. The boys making this move were Brent Howatt and Randy Shepherd. Laura Scott thanked the teachers, the parents and Laura Lyon for being the supply secretary. The teachers and pupils retired on a closing hymn. Personals The village welcomes Doug, Karen and 14 -month-old Dawn Dolrnage who are mov- ing to Londesboro on June 18 from Blyth. They are moving into a home they purchas- ed from Bob and Violet Burns, who moved on June 15 to Clinton. We wish them all the happiness in their new home. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Fothergill attended the 35th wedding anniversary party for Mr. and Mrs. Jack Marks at their summer home near Whitechurch oil June 20. Dorothy Airdrie and her mother Elizabeth Foster of Clinton returned home on June 15 after two weeks of a vacation tour in Ger- many and other European countries. Florence, John and Claude Cartwright spend from June 18 to June 20 in Montreal. Mr. and Mrs. Orval Newby spent June 16-17 in Pembroke visiting friends. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thompson attended the 40th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hamilton in South Ampton on June 21. A family dinner was held on June 21 at the home of Audrey and Elwood Mitchell to honor Audrey's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Baine of Stratford on their 60th wedding an- niversary. Present were Madelon Baines of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Smith of Cam- bridge, grandchildren John and Joan Baines of Brantford, Traci and Rob Radford of Londesboro and great-grandchildren Jack and McKenzie Baines of Brantford. Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Wood attended Wingham United Church on June 21 when Ken Wood conducted the service. The guest speaker was professor Bill Andrews of Toronto. All were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Wood. Several Londesboro residents attended the 50th wedding anniversary of Verda and Jack Sinclair of Seaforth on June 21. The event was held at the Orange Hall in Seaforth. Tickets are available from any member. ABOUT PEOPLE Mr. and Mrs. Jack, Edmonton, Alberta have been visiting with relatives in the Var- na, Clinton and Walton Area for the past two weeks. On Sunday friends and relatives gathered in the Varna Complex to celebrate the 84th birthday of Wat Webster, Clinton and Harry Baker, Bayfield. A special birthday cake was given by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Webster, and the birthday guests fittingly replied. 53 were present with guests coming from Lon- don, Toronto, Walkerton, Seaforth, Clinton, Lucknow, Varna, Bayfield and Walton. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bennett, New Market visited last Wednesday with his sister Mary Humphries. Mary MacDonald, Toronto has returned home following a visit at the home of Wilfred Shortreed and Margaret, and other relatives in the area. The fifth annual William Hart reunion was held at the home of Keith and Gloria Wilbee Sunday afternoon with 43 in attendance. They attended from Kitchener, Baden, New Hamburg, Embro, Woodstock, Seaforth, Teeswater and Walkerton. SMITH REUNION Approximately 65 people attended the Smith reunion at the Walton Hall, Sunday, , June 14. They were present from Kitchener, Waterloo, Ethel, Brussels, Blyth, Clinton, Brucefield, Listowel, Ilderton, Lucan, Hanover, Kincardine, Hamilton, Minden, Tillsonburg, Belgrave, and Red Deer, Alberta. The next reunion will be held in two years. AREA SPORTS On June 15 the Walton Area Sports Club held a planning meeting at the park to discuss plans for the float entry in the 115th Homecoming Parade in Brussels July 4. The Bantam Boys ball team has new uniforms supplied by the Walton Area Sports Club. Other teams got other equip- ment they needed. There is an aided ball game this week on Wednesday, June 24 at 7 p.m. when the Pee Wee Boys take on Winthrop. i Members of the South Huron All Breed Horse Association met in Bayfield on June 20 for a first in a series of competitions. The first class of the day was showmanship at halter - Senior. (Showmanship is just when the per- son is judged at how well they can show their horse). Placings were: third Lynn Heckman from Lucan; second went to Cam Darling from Exeter and first was Janice Bishop also from Exeter. Junior Showmanship at halter (13-18). Bill Storey from Clinton third; Lisa Storey from Clinton second and Angela Postma from Goderich took first. Showmanship at halter (12 yrs and under ) Christy Wilson from Clinton third. Melissa Marshall from Dashwood, second and Jen- nifer Heckman from Lucan•, first. In the two sweet classes - first was Leadline (7 yrs and under). Third place went to K.J. Snidder from Dashwood then Melissa Marshall from Dashwood but of the two sisters Brandi mrshall of Dashwood won. Walk, Jog/Trot (10 yrs. and under) and second went to Christie Wilson . of Clinton and first to Melissa Marshall of Dashwood. English Pleasure - Senior: Shirley Bosley, third and Janice Bullock and Brandy from Aylmer, second with Dale Marshall and Len Mar Hebib from Dashwood first place. English Equitation - Junior had Jennifer McNutt from Hay winning third, Christie Wilson from Clinton, second and Jennifer Lains first. English Pleasure - open saw Janice Bullock receiving third, Dale Marshall with second and Jennifer Lains first. In the Jum- ping class, Jennifer McNutt won third Janice Bullock won second, Christie Wilson won first. Novelty Costume saw two competitors with Dale Marshall receiving second and Shirley Bosley first. In the Command Class, Jackie Hindrnarsh from Huron Park carne in third, Angela Postma from Goderich second, with Dale Marshall first. After lunch Western riders were out in full force with Western Equitation Junior, Jen- nifer Heckman from Lucan third. Lisa Storey, second and Angela Postma first. Western Pleasure - Senior had Dale Mar- shall and Len Mar Hebib third, Cam Darling of Exeter and Kadar second and Jim Storey of Clinton first. Western Pleasure - Open had Lisa Storey and Goldie third, Dale Mar- shall and Len Mar Hebib second with Janice Bishop and Galeka first. Western Riding had Bill Storey third, Lisa Storey, second and Janice Bullock first. The last performance class was the trail class and Jennifer Heckman won third, Angela Postma second and Janice Bullock first. Then the games wer held, First was Cloverleaf Barrel Race with Mark McNutt of Hay with a time of 25.46 placing third, Bil,1 Storey second with a time of 23. 67 and Lisa Storey ran away with first having a time of 18.23. Pole Bending saw Carl Tyler from Dashwood winning third with a time of 37.02. Jim Storey had a time of :36.02 to get him in- to second and Lisa Storey was first with the time of 27.04. Keyhole had Christie Wilson third with a time of 12.58. Lisa Storey had a time of 11.76 to give her secrond and Carl Tyler won first by a narrow 16 seconds with a time of 11.62. The last class was Texas Speed and Action with Jim Storey with a time of 32.70 for third place, Carl Tyler had 21.56 for a time to give him second and Lisa Storey won the class with a time of 27.21. The next show is August 1 and 2 at Dashwood. Call a winner for more information.
