Your wedding is less than three weeks
away. All your wedding gifts, including
the silver tea set from Aunt Martha, are
neatly stacked in your mother's guest
bedroom, while contractors put the
finishing touches on your new home.
Before you Sail away on your honey-
moon, the Insurance Information In-
stitute suggests that you contact an in-
surance agent or company representative
and inquire about a wedding presents
floater.
This type of floater is designed to cover
wedding presents, on an "all risk" basis,
vvherever they are, during the period
before and after, but not longer than 90
days after the wedding.
Premiums for a wedding presents
floater may cost as little as 55 cents per
$100 for the first $10,000, and only slightly
more if it includes the risk of breakage of
china, glass, marble, eathenware, fur-
niture or other fragile articles.
As soon as you return from your honey-
moon and get settled, don't forget to con-
tact your insurance agent or company
representative and choose a homeowner
insurance policy best suited to your per-
sonal needs. You can insure your proper-
ty against many different kinds of losses,
including fire, theft, windstorm or hail
and vandalism or malicious mischief.
Apartment dwellers need tenants in-
surance for their pers al belongings and
their liability to other . The landlord's in-
surance does not incl de this type of
coverage.
The I.I.I. also su ests that newlywed
couples make an inventory of all
household furnishings and personal
belongings. An inventory will help you to
establish the value of your belongings
and how much insurance you need. It will
also help you to settle an insurance claim
quickly and efficiently, if a loss should
occur.
For a copy of "Home Insurance
Basics," "Tenants Insurance Basics"
and "Taking Inventory," call the I.I.I.'s
toll-free insurance hotline: 800-221-4954.
Bouquets
There's a bouquet shape for every
bride, from the spectacular cascade to
the discreet one- or two -flower look.
THE FLOWERS
You'll want your bouquet to comple-
ment not only your dress but your per-
sonal style. With hot -house growing and
air shipping, even the most exotic flowers
'like lily of the valleys) are available.
But if you're on a budget, consider in -
season flowers. Year-round favorites'.
Stephanotis, gardenias, roses. carnations
that a creative florist should be able to
make up into any shape.
THE LOOK
The new word in bouquets — abundant.
The cascade of flowers and greens is
beautiful, bountiful — and very. very for-
mal. But think proportion: if you're
petite, you'll be lost behind all those
flowers; something scaled-down may
work better. Remember too you'll want
to show off not hide 1 the waistband or
skirt of an intricately embellished dress.
Ideas in either case: A tropical flower t8o,
grace a prayer book or lace fan, long-
stemmed flowers to rest lightly in your
arm.
