Parent -teacher meetings held
CLINTON - The Clinton and District
Christian School held their PTA banquet
and annual meeting on November 14. The
president opened the evening by reading
Psalm 67, followed by prayer.
The Willing Workers served a roast beef
dinner. Karen Bruinsma entertained with a
few selections.
The speakers for the evening were Trix
Bradley and Joyce Dekker,. Trix spoke on
how children have different learning
disabilities, how to identify these
disabilities, and how to respond to each in-
dividual's needs. She used audience par-
ticipation to remember a few letters in a
certain sequence or some simple instruc-
tions. Joyce then enlightened the crowd on
the different methods she uses- to hells the
children in the learning process.

It was an informative evening and it made
everyone aware of the need for Special
Education in the school. The work of these
teachers is greatly appreciated.
Rev. Sinas_ac closed the meeting with
prayer.
It's exam time
By Dawn flunking
It is exam time again at Central Huron
Secondary School (CRSS). Walking down
the halls one would see people sitting by
their lockers, in tit lib?ary, and in the
cafeteria, with their heads buried in a tex-
tbook, pages littered everywhere.
What do students really think of exams?
There are many mixed opinions. Some say
they don't mind them, others hate them, and
others say it is a very stressful time. The
general opinion was that everyone wished
they came at a different time, instead of just
before Christmas.
A new teacher at the school claimed he
found making exams to be interesting and
challenging, since it was his first effort. He
was impressed with the communications
between teachers of the same subject to
make sure the exam was fair for all classes.
The secretaries say that they don't mind
typing up exams anymore because" they
have computers and it makes the job of typ-
ing out hundreds of pages easier.
Exams are a very stressful time for
teachers as well as students. It is hard to
create an exam that is interesting, not too
tough and not too easy. It is hard to get the
'stud.— i interested enough in the course to
study; said some teachers.
