Stanley Township is well known for its
community meals. In past years groups in

funding raising events.
The year those huge family styled com-
munity meals are back as part of the
celebrations for the Stanley Township
Sesquicentennial.
Arnold Taylor is in charge of the pancake
breakfast, beef and pork barbecues and
with the help of many individuals he plans to
feed thousands of people.
The food feast begins on Saturday morn-
ing, August 2 from 7 to 11 am with an all -you -
can -eat pancake breakfast, to be held at the
Stanley township Complex in Varna.
More than 30 dozen eggs and 70 pounds of
sausage have been ordered for the meals,
along with pancake mix, toast, juice, coffee
and all the fixings. The price for this early
morning feast is $3.50 a person.
After breakfast, Arnold and his crew will
be busy preparing to feed more than 1,400
people at the giant beef barbecue to be held
that evening.
Tickets are going fast for this event which
will also be held at the Complex, from 4:30
to 7:30 pm. Tickets have been selling since
April and may only be purchased in
advance.
Richard Eb and Stu Broadfoot will be on
hand to barbecue more than 900 pounds of
beef for the feast. The meal will be com-
pleted with baked potatoes, salad and
dessert.
On Sunday night, August 3 from 4:30 - 7:30
pm a crowd of well over 1,000 is expected to
dine out at the pork barbecue, also to be held
