STANLEY FOLK
WELCOME YOU
TO. THE 150TH
Since January, Stanley Township has
been holding a number of varied events to
celebrate its 150th birthday, but the best is
yet to come.
The Stanley Township Sesquicentennial
Homecoming Weekend will be officially
opened on August 2 at 2 p.m. at the Complex.
Local dignitaries doing the honor include
Huron Middlesex MPP and Minister of
Agriculture and Food Jack Riddell; MP
Murray Cardiff; Huron County Warden
Leona Armstrong; Stanley Township Reeve
Clarence Rau as well as neighboring reeves.
Also on hand will be two representatives
from the Stanlee Seniors' Club who will
plant a tree to commemorate the pioneers of
yesterday, and two Grade 8 students who
will plant a tree for the pioneers of today
and tomorrow.
Don't miss this event - it will not only pay
tribute to the township's history, but is
history in the making.
