They lost 16-10 in Bluevale and 19-9' to Wingham at home. Against Bluevale Jim' Wright was the top batter with two hits, including a grand slam home run. At home against Wingham, Mike Nahrgang was the star for Clinton with two hits. He also had a triple which was called back. The next home game for the team will be on July 2 at the Optimist park. They will be playing Bluevale to make up for a rained out game. Ladies participate in Festival By Blanche Deeves MIDDLETON - The ladies of the ACW of St. James are participating in the Country Crafts Festival in the community centre in Holmesville with a delibooth. When canning or preserving keep in mind jams, jellies, • pickles, etc. are needed for this booth. they are also looking for small clean jars and would appreciate these from anyone. Congratulations to Don and Audrey Mid- dleton on their 34th wedding anniversary on July 5. Would the ladies who have flower vases from the . Apple Blossom Festival please return them sotnetime this week before July 4. Morning prayer was held in St. Jame's Mid- dleton Anglican Church on June 29 with Rev. Bell officiating. It was purposed to repay the rectory sidewalk with asphalt and brmg it to the step level. The financial split is to re- main the same. Repair to the hallway rectory will'be done and it will also be wallpapered. Members are to institute a joint social oc- casion in October. A team is to be set up from both congregations. In the first game of regular play Lorene Robinson of Goderich was'the winner. Leanne Van Dyk of Goderich and Brenda Brown of Goderich were the winners in the second game; In game three the winners were Joanne Bell of Hensall and Janet McKinnon of Zurich. The winners in the fourth game were Sarah Dick of Hensall, Norah MacDonald of Clinton and W. Patterson of .Clinton. Prior to the playing of the fifth game, Share the Wealth worth. $138.50 was played, and Elaine Josling of Clinton, Kathy Rody of Goderich and Gloria Glanville of Seaforth were the winners. J. Patterson of Clinton won the fifth game. The four winners in game six were Marlene Hart of Clinton, Helen Stoddart of London, Rose Lindsay of Sarnia and Eileen Laframboise of Bayfield. In the seventh game, Mrs. Austen of Seaforth, Lil Williamson, and Debbie Penn- ings of Zurich won. Gerarda McFarlane of Goderich and Ber- tha Gibb of Clinton won the eighth game. Share the Wealth worth $141 was played before the ninth game, and the winners were Mrs. Arnold Beach of Goderich and Annie Sallows of Vanastra. The winners in game nine were Arnold Beach of Goderich, Kerry Pitblads of Goderich, Ethel Taylor of Clinton, Pat Shaw of Blyth, Brenda Alderson of Pine Lake Camp, Susan Campbell of Hensall and Pauline Ellacott of Auburn. The winners in the tenth game were Mildred Hartman of Goderich and Evelyn Francis of Bayfield. There were seven winners in game 11, and they were Bev Bentley of Goderich, Marion Mackie of Bayfield, Dorothy Fleet of Clin- ton, Judy Dykstra of Clinton, Hugh, Cook of Clinton, Beth McLean of Goderich and Muriel Beyer of Clinton. In the twelfth game Marlene Hart of Clin- ton was the winner. Before playing game 13, Share the Wealth worth $145 was played and won by Glenda Belair of Vanastra and F.J. Dunn of Goderich. Marion Castle of Clinton and Barbara Pegg of Goderich won the thirteenth game. In game 14 Judy . Lee' of Clinton was the winner, and there was another Minton win- ner in the fifteenth game, Katie Spencer. The Bonanza Bingo winner of $50 was An- nie Sallows of Vanastra, and Kay Appleby of Brucefield won the jackpot worth $1,000. Lawn bowlers host tourney CLINTON - On June 25, the Clinton Lawn Bowling Club hosted a Men's Pairs tournament. John Patterson and Tom Phillips came in first in the tournament; l and they were followed in second place by Fred Redmond of Woodstock. ' In third place were Elmer Murray and Cliff Ashton, while fourth place was'held by Jim ' Coultes of Brussels, and fifth went to Sandy Pepper and Art Finlayson of Seaforth. Jack McDonald and Jack Treleaven of Lucknow finished in sixth place, and Ed Eichmeyer of Mitchell came in seventh. In Ladies' Pairs competition in Mitchell on June 26 Jean Gray and Doreen McCallum of Clinton finished first.
