the 25th anniversary of nursing graduates at

mond Taylor of Welland, Mr. and Mrs.
Teade Bakker, Stuart and Kerrie, Mr. and

Church Picnic
Knox United Church, Auburn held their pic-
nic on Sunday. June 22 at Four Seasons
Caui grounds. A large crowd enjoyed sport .
activtte4 such as Boot races, three legged ,
race, wheel -barrow rake and softball
throwing.
Later in the afternoon, the session
presented a time of appreciation for all
teachers and staff involved with Sunday
School and Junior Congregation. This time
of fellowship and fun concluded with a pot-
luck supper.
Apnlversary
Jack and Elva Armstrong were guests of
honor at a dinner at Robindale's in Goderich
on Sunday, June- 22 when 17 members of
their family gathered to celebrate their 45th
Wedding Anniversary. These in attendance
were -Fred, Ruth, Lori, Donna Lynn and
John Armstrong, Carol, Gerald, Patti, Kim
McDowell and Don Dodds, Ron McDowell
and Alice Woodward, Wayne and Claire and
great granddaughter, Michelle McDowell.

girls, 7 to 0. Then beat the boys, 5 to 4.
• Talent Tune
On June 18, there were several performers
at Talent Time. Lana Lawrence, Rachel
Jenkins, Angela McCool, Mandy Medd, and
Kerrie Szusz all played the piano. Kerrie
SFusz;;alid Christy Scott diff semg' stepdanc-
ing'and the Senior band with the Grade fives
played recorders and Mike Luna played the
organ. Awards were given out to the
newspaper staff, public speakers and track
and field.
On June 20, there were_ several per-
formers at talent time. Lana and Leslie
Lawrence played a piano duet, Lana
Lawrence and Shannon Duizer played a
piano duet, Sara Lyons and Melanie Knox
also played a piano duet. Also Cheryl Lapp
and Jennifer Nott played the piano.. Rhonda
Howatt step danced, Richard Bergsma
played the accordian and Anita Gross did a
monologue..
Slides of the Grade 8 graduates were
shown.
Awards were given out to thestudent
council, junior and senior choir, volleyball,
captian ball and slo-pitch members.

The Grade 7 top boy and girl were Lana
Lawrence and Shane Taylor. Both Shane
and Lana were given school letters.
Grade 8 graduation was held June 23 at 7
p.m. The dinner banquet was held at the
hall, and their program was held at the
school. The program consisited of awards,
songs and poems by the graduates, and a
slide presentation of their earlier years. The
guest speaker was Mr. Carroll and the
valedictorian was Anita Gross.

The Kindergarten Special Program was
held on June 25. The parents were invited to
come and watch. The children's art
throughout the year was on display. They sang
a song about every month. It was called
Every Season has a Reason. They concluded
the program with refreshments.
The Grade 4 and 5's took a trip to Midland
on June 23. They went to Saint Marie among
the Hurons. ' They also went to the Indian
Village. It was an enjoyable day.

Auburn Women's Institute
Auburn Women's Institute held their
,dessert luncheon June 17 with guests from
Blyth, Loudeaboro. and Dungannon.
Family and Consumer Affair Convenors,
Mrs. E. Lapp, Lillian Leatberland and Mrs.
C. Merrill had the hall beautifully decorated
with spring flowers and fancy table cloths.
A special decorated table held the Auburn
125th Anniversary Album compiled by Ruth
Jardin. Leone Robertson and Mrs. Francis
Clark in memory of the late Eleanor Brad -
nock. This was later dedicated by Mrs. T.
Jarden to be put in the Auburn Library.
Beryl Nicolson on behalf of herself and
her sister, Dorothy Bennett thanked the
Auburn Institute for doing this project for.
their dear sister.
A sing song was lead by Mrs. T. Jardin
and Mrs. E. Rodger as pianist.
The door prize was won by Mrs. R. Peck.
The afternoon closed with a bake sale.

past 16 years Mr. Medd has been teacher at
East Wawanosh School.
Mr. Medd was then presented with a clock
which had the school logo burned into the
surface. He was also given a framed flag
which the class had signed as a keep sake of
his 1986 Grade 3 class. These were presented
by,Margie Gordon and Jayne Vincent.
Margie Gordon also presented Mr. Medd
with a Good Luck Care Bear - not only ex-
pressing the wishes of the class but also
symbolizing the colors of the East
Wawanogh School.
Mr. Medd fittingly replied expressing his
sorrow at leaving the community, but ex-
pressing the pleasure in that he has made so
many friends.
There were 115 people present.
Country Fayre
Approximately 400 people attended the
Country Fayre and Cold Meat Supper on
June 21 at the Belgrave Community Centre.
It was sponsored by Knox United Church.

To celebrate the occasion of Ethel
Wheeler's 97th birthday, a party was held on
June 16 at the home of Mabel Wheeler.
Ethel Wheeler is a .resident at the
Woodhaven Home. Wroxeter.
Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Wilson of Vancouver
British Columbia visited With Mabel
Wheeler and their cousin Ethel Wheeler on
June 22.
Mrs, Glyn Wide, Kimberly, Jennifer and
Trevor of Hamilton spent the weekend with
her parents Mr. and Mrs. Garner Nicholson.
Mrs. Nicholson, who had been visiting with
her daughter and son-in-law and family in
Hamilton, returned to her home with them.
Lillian Thompson and Shirley Mikorski
from East Brunswick, New Jersey, spent a
few days last week visiting with Ethel
Wheeler and other Belgrave friends.
Harold Keating returned home on June 13
after being a patient in St. Joseph's
