Frederick Hoepfner
Frederick Hoepfner of Iluronview, and
formerly of Egmondville, died in the Clinton
Hospital on May 10 at the age of 88.
Mr. Hoepfner, born in Magdeburg, Ger-
many, was the son of Celbert and Gertrude
(Koerner) Hoepfner, and the husband of the
late Greta (Vos) Hoepfner.
He was a civil engineer with the Foundry
until his retirement.
Mr. Hoepfner is survived by his two
nephews, Hans Vos of Egmondville and
Joseph Gunter of Platteville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on
May 12 at the Beattie Funeral Home, with
Rev. David Snihur officiating.
Interment is at the Parkhaven Cemetery
in Toronto. Jean Mair
Jean (Bell) Mair, 86, of the Lakeshore
area of Toronto, formerly of Clinton, died
Tuesday, May 6, 1986 at the Queensway
General Hospital.
She was predeceased by her husband Carl
Mair.
Surviving are two daughters Muriel, Mrs.
A Stephens, of Renfrew and Dorothy, Mrs.
George Dvernechuk, of Longbranch, one

Funeral services were held in Toronto on

Thursday, May 8 and at the gravesite at
Clinton Cemetery on Friday, May 9.

Ivy Cook
Ivy Margaret Cook, of Belgrave, died May
6, at the Wingham and District Hospital. She
was 89 years -old.
Born in East Wawanosh Township she
was the daughter of the late David and
Rebecca Cook. She attended the Knox
United Church in Belgrave.
Mrs. Cook is survived by children; Wesley
and Annie Cookt both of Belgrave; Elsie and
Jim Walsh, of Blyth; Norman and Lorna
Cook, Charlie and Doreen Cook, all of
Belgrave; Florence McArter of Brussels;
Nora and Ben Huskinson, of Callander;
Muriel Bosman of Sault Ste.Marie; Mildred
and Jim Paton of Mossley and Evelyn
Lechinsky of Regina. She is also survived by
one son-in-law Ray Green of Kincardine, 43
grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Cook was predeceased by her hus-
band, George, in March 1968, a daughter
Lois Green and three sisters, five brothers
and one great granddaughter.
A funeral service was held May 9, at the
McBurney Funeral Home. Rev. John
Roberts officiated and interment was in
Brandon Cemetery, Belgrave.
Pallbearers were Mrs. Cook's grandsons;
Ronald Cook, Murray Walsh, Richard
Paton, Gary McArter, David Bosman and
Poem opens meeting
CLINTON - The Afternoon Unit of Ontario
Street United Church met in the ladies'
parlor with 27 members and three visitors
present.
Marion Powell opened the meeting *ith a
poem that Rev. Eagles wrote before his
death.
Ida Godkin took charge of the meeting in
absence of Kay Elliott.,Ida read a poem and
everyone joined in singing with Lorna Rad-
ford at the piano. Edna McDonald read
Psalm 145. Ruby Webster led in prayer.
Offering was taken and dedicated by Mrs.
Godkin who then read a poem. All repeated
the Lord's prayer which closed the
devotions.
There were 19 home calls and nine
hospital calls. Leila read the treasurer's
report which was seconded by Edith Wright
who then read the thank you notes. It was
moved by Ruby Webster, seconded by
Ernie Cook. Flower bearers were grand-
daughters, Christine Forth and Karen
Green. Another granddaughter, Eleanore
Paton, sang In the Garden. Relatives at-
tended from Regina, Sault Ste. Marie,
Callander, Timmins, Hamilton, Woodstock,
Toronto, Kincardine and Mossley.
Benson Thomas Edward
Benson Thomas Edward died suddenly at
his residence on 125 Kensington Crescent,
Huron Park on April 25. He was 66 -years -
old.
Mr. Edward is survived by his wife Olive
(McLean) Edward and daughters Mrs. Wal-
ly (Mary Lou) Becker and Mrs. John
(Sharon) Bruls, both of Huron Park. He is
also survived, by two granddaughters,
Shauna and Shari Becker and two brothers,
Emmerson and James, both of Clinton. He
also has several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Edward was predeceased by one son,
Wayne in January of 1946 and one sister, An-
nie Steep in December of 1984.
Funeral services were held at Hopper
Hockey Funeral Home, Exeter, on April 26
with Rev. Brian Elder of Crediton Unjted
Church officiating. Interment followed at
the Exeter Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dr. Ralph Topp, Norm
Hyde, Don Wells, Phil Campbell, Tim Oliver
and Mel Winger. Flowerbearers were
Howard Edward, Roxanna Edward, Mark
Bromly, Ted Hyde and Al LeGoff.
Donations made to South Huron Hospital
and the Lung Association were appreciated
by the family.
Drucilla Prescott, that the charge for coffee
and muffins be $1.at the coffee party.
The Morning Coffee Mates have invited
the Afternoon Unit to a get acquainted party
on June 10 at Conservation Park at 11:30
a.m. in the form of a box social.
Lila Webster gave a report of a September
meeting to be in the form of a play at the
Huron Country Playhouse in Grand Bend.
A banner for the Klompen Feest will be
made by Hope Lobb. Gertrude Feagan
made the motion to defray the expenses of
the banner which was seconded by Valena
Trewartha.
Vic Taylor showed the second half of his
pictures of the Holy Land which were en-
joyed by all. Marion closed the meeting with
prayer.
Lunch which was served by Donna Tyn-
dall, Valena Trewartha and Leila Johnston
was enjoyed.

Dodgson-Taylor
Dave Dodgson and Bev Taylor were mar-
ried on April 24 in Stratford. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Taylor of
Clinton, and the groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd Dodgson of Richmond Hill. The
"mniif bf Mink Wag Sust[nproetor of Clinton,
and the hest man was Dan Proctor of Clin-
ton. The couple will reside in Seaforth.
