Sponsored by: The New Dimensions: Adult tickets advance, $4.00; Children's $2.00; at the door, $4.50, $2'.25,-10 Rovers off to New Zealand CLINTON - After a year of planning and fund raising, the first Clinton Rover Crew, the senior co-ed level of scouting, is all set to leave on Monday for a trip of a lifetime -,the opportunity to be a crew representing Canada at the Golden Jubilee of Rovers meeting in Christchurch, New Zealand. En route they will have a short stay in Australia, being met in Sydney by Rev. A.W. Grant who had visited Clinton last year and served as anniversary' speaker at Wesley -Willis Church. This has been a busy year - for the first Clinton Rovers - Vicki Cantelon, Greg Carter, Dave Moffat, Brian Phillips, Shawna Semple, their leaders and parents to raise the funds and make preparations. Fund raising included selling firewood, Christmas trees, holding chicken barbe- ques,, yard sales, bazaar booths, New Zealand Night, etc. In addition, many community groups have been very generous in making dona- tions toward the New Zealand experience, and the Rovers wish to voice their apprecia- tion for the support and interest of the com- munity. Hensall skaters perform well By Vehna Robinson HENSAL1L-It's been a successful season for the Hensall Figure Skaters. The follow- ing club members participated in the Oc- tober 12 test day held in Hensall, the December 15 test day held in Clinton, and the February 4 test day held in Hensall. Passing Canadian Figure Skating Association tests were: Deb Lawrence (Dutch waltz, canasta tango and preliminary figure 1984/85 season)• swing, teen fox, fiesta tango and first figure - Jen- nifer Taylor and Karen McCulloug - preliminary figure, Dutch waltz and • canasta tango Amy Campbell, Teresa Haugh and Amy Zwart, Dutch waltz and canasta tango; Christina Dayman, Anne Packham, Marcia Regier, Katie Rathwell and Dana Cooper - Dutch waltz. Skaters couldn't have done it without the professional coaches; Kimberley Marsden and Lesa Butt and volunteer coach Kelly Vanstone. .Marls your calendar for March 15, 8 p.m. for the Hensall Figure Skating Club Annual Ice Show - this year's theme is "Music in the Air." Tickets are available at the door. Hensall Bantams The Hensall Bantams were hosted by Goderich on February 26. The game was rough as Goderich tried to intimidate the boysinto fighting, but to no avail as Hensall stuck to the fundamentals of hockey and outplayed and outchecked Goderich. The marksmen for Hensall were able to chalk up 16 goals compared to three for their hosts. The following is a summary of the scor- ing: Jason Imanse, four goals, three assists; Brian Moir, three goals, three assists; Rob . Taylor, three goals, three assists; Scott Bell, two goals, four dssists; Jim Dickins, two goals,- three assists; Steve McCullough, one goal, two assists; Andy Phillips, one goal, Dwayne Lawrence, one assist and Wayne Scotchmer, two assists. The boys travel to Mitchell on March 8. and Zurich on March 12. To end their Huron - Perth schedule, their playoff tournament is :lylarch 21, 22 and 23 in Hensall and Zurich: Next weekend March 8 is theannual minor hockey dance. Tickets available from any minor hockey player. Shuffleboard and Euchre A good number attended shuffleboard and euchre on February 27. The high scorers were - Alf Ross 228, Dave Kyle 210, and Dorothy Britnell, 197. Northcrest News The tenants of Northcrest had 14 attend a pot luck supper on February 27. It was nice to have Irene Davis back. There will bea horticultural meeting at 8 p.m. on March 7 at the church.
