MAITLAND AND THE 16TH - Where oh
where has the summer gone? Few will,
forget the Sumner of '85 i'i Goderich

of fun.
The rain may be fatting these days but' the
one weekend in July Goderich Township
wanted -it to be sunny and, warm, was
everything -the residents asked for.
Some of this community have had time to
do some travelling as well as all the

flew to England and toured some of the
island. Robin joined them and Phyllis and
he went on to Ireland. Marion stayed on in
England - travelling with friends to Greece
where she spent a month before returning
home.
Jim and Verna I4obb took the Beef Tour
which went to Denver, Colorado. Doug and
Gertrude Feagan have just returned home
from a trip'to Edmonton where they visited
with Carl and his family. Jack and Lula

Peter Thompson travelled to Prince Ed-

GODERICH TWP. - The Goderich
Township Families book is corning along -
slowly but surely. However it will not be
ready for Christmas 1985.
Organizers are finding that there is so
much cross-referencing required between
the stories that it is impossible to pass
anything on to the publisher until the entire,
book is completed. Becau'e of this, the book
will definitely not be readry for Christmas
1985! It will be out early in 1986, but how
soon depends upon how ninth editing is re-
quired once all the data is on computer.
They are planning as least two Sunday
proofreading days (August 25 and
September 81. and do hope that people will
take, this opportunity to check the typing
and lay -out of the material under their sur-
. name of interest. Also bring in your photos!
If you do not bother to check the copy, it is
quite likely that errors will be published -
and they hope you .do not complain after-
wards! If there are still some stories not yet
on the computer at those dates, another day
will be added later this fall for further proof-
reading.
