stallion Armbro Splurge, who stands at
Seelster Farms in Lucan, has most recently
won OSS competitions at Dresden,
Belleville, and Leamington raceways.
Trained by the OJC's leading , conditioner,
Fred Hoffman, this filly seems to feel
especially at home on the half-milers.
C R Candy, trained by Peter Smith for the
Down The Stretch Stable of Mississauga, is
also no slouch. The Armbro Topper filly
most recently won stakes races at Dresden
and Orangeville, and should be quite .ready
for a tough competition at Clinton.
Some other fillies to watch for at Clinton
might include: Majors Choice, a daughter of
Jade Prince trained by Bill Wellwood for
owners Charles Armstrong of Inglewood.
and' Gustav Schickedanz of Thornhill. Ma-
jors Choice hasn't been in the spotlight
much this year, but looks like she may be
rounding into form. In the Rothmans Sum-
mer Championship last week • she finished
third in both her 'elimination and the final-
two impressive showings; Armbro Daisy, a
winner of OSS events at Belleville and
-Leamington for the Burboy Farms, Robert
Fisher, and •Colin Ferguson. Dave Wall
trains the daughter of Armbro Ranger.

needed. Goalie Mike Segeren and the other
team members played outstanding.
