Songs and a skit was performed by in-
dividual classes with Angela Schneider as
our hostess. Refreshments and cookies were
served while parents viewed' the crafts and
the work of the students.

Olympic Sports Camp near Huntsville. He
attended the Ontario 4-H Leadership Camp
for one week.

at Silver Birches resort, Minden.

Isabelle Shortreed and Leona Conley,
Brussels returned home Saturday night
from a 15 day tour of the western provinces
and Vancouver Island, touring Victoria for a
day then taking in the Calgary Stampede
prior to returning to Toronto.
Mr.<, and Mrs. Murray McCall, Mr. and
Mrs. Brian Pryce were holidaying recently
around the French River District.
Karen Warwick, Michael and Kendra of
Olds, Alberta are spending their holidays at
the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Wingham hospital. Mrs. Ernest Durnin is a'
patient in University Hospital, London.
They are both wished a speedy recovery.,
Mr; and Mrs. Art Haverkamp of
Woodstock visited with Mr. and Mrs. Tom
Lawlor.

The Presbyterian W.M.S. meeting was
held at the home of Mrs. Edgar Daer. Mrs.
Frances Clark presided over the meeting.
The devotional period was conducted by
Lillian Letherland who read about the
foolish man, the second of the two builders.
The study was conducted by Viola
Raithby who spoke on the topic "Street
Kids". The August meeting, will be on
August 20th at the home of Hazel Craig.

every morning this week for all denomina-
tions. It is being held in the basement of the
church. •

day evening prior to the Blyth Festival.
General UCW suppers are scheduled for
August 9, 23 and September 16.

Safety Seekers set picnic date
AUBURN - Meeting 4 of the 4-H Safety
Seekers was held on June 26 at the Auburn
Library.
The picnic date was set for July 22 and in
case of rain that day, for July 26.
The topic for the evening was water safe-
ty. Members discussed boating did how to
have a safe time while boating. They also
talked about thin ice, hypothermia and
resuscitation.
Meeting 5 was held on June 26. For
business members discussed the picnic. The
topic was fire 'safety. They looked at the
main elements of fire and discussed fire ex-
tinguishers. They studied the different ones
that were available and how to use them
properly. What to do if a fire broke out and
the importance of having a safety route in
your home was stressed..
Heating the home with wood and the
hazards involved was also discussed: The
home activity was to draw a floor plan of
houses showing the escape routes.
Meeting 6 of the Safety Seekers was held
on June 26. The topic for the meeting was
First Aid. The leader explained that for part
of the project members would have to make
a First Aid Kit. They looked at the different
types of bandages and how to control
bleeding. Next they discussed sunburn, heat
stroke and artificial resuscitation. Last of
all they did the "Identifying the
Treatments" quiz.
At the last meeting of the club the leader
reminded members what they needed to
complete the project. She then explained the
picnic and all that was planned for it.
The topic for the night was family, com-
munity and you. Members studied reflex
reaction and then did a test on individual
reflex reaction. Then they looked at per-
sonal protection equipment, stress, the
human factors of safety and your com-
