1921
The assessor is to take a census of all bulls
in the Township, registered or not, and is to
be paid 5 cents for each. He is also to deliver
dog tags and be paid 10 cents for each tag,
but must provide the tags at this proce. For
this work he was paid 23.49.
1878
The International Salt Company appealed
their assessment.
1950
Following a change in system of assessing,
the Township received 168 appeals, and fur-
ther appeals to the Judge against the local
Court's decisions.

In baseball, the Wildcats of Porter's Hill Vs
Springfields of the Huron Road, and the Nor-
thern Lights of PortersHill Vs the
Holmesville boys.
1860
Wm. Loft is paid 87 and a half cents to repair
a scraper.
1862
John and Peter Magee must repair the
bridge and crossway immediately, which
they broke by felling a large pine tree onto
ipthe bridge between lot 35 and 36 concession,
13, or they will be pit to cost and trouble.
1870
Dr. Shannon presented a bill and was paid
5.00 for attending Harriette Wait in her ac-
couchement, while stopping at the .house of
Thos. McKee.
1918
The Clerk prepares a by-law authorizing a 2
year term for Council. The by-law to be sub-
mitted to the ratepayers on election day.
1859
John Deaves is paid for road work. He also
is a trustee for S.S. No. 11.
' 1919
A delegation requests Council to build a
Township Hall. Council appoints the follow-
ing Committee to study and report. "N.W.
Trewartha,H.L. Salkeld; From the
Farmers Club - FLK. Revell, Dermot
McEvory, and Isaak Salkeld; County
Women's Club -Mrs. Isaac.Salkeld and from
the Good Cheer Club, Mr. James McMillan.
1879
Moved by James Laithwaite - seconded by
Joseph Whitely - carried 'That this Council
adjourn for 10 minutes'. A long ten minutes
having.expired, Council resumed business.
1876
A by-law specified among other things that;
Pigs above 50 pounds be allowed to run at
large if they have 2 iron rings in the nose.
1877
Inspectors Lee and Dunlop seized an illicit
still and 10 gallons of very bad whiskey at
the house, of John McLennan on concession

Methodist services are being held in the
Orange Hall on concession 7 for 12 weeks. 35
members have been added and there is talk
of a new church being built.
1915
41111N.W. Trewartha is appointed the first
Township Weed Inspector.
1876
James Anderson delivered 15 cords of wood
to S.S. No. 6 at .95 cents per cord.
