mARKDA1P, - The Rotary Street Frolic
kicks off the festivities in Markdale on Fri-
day night, July 12. This event has been br-
inging people back to Markdale every year
for 30 years for the fun, games and street
dancing under the stars.
On Saturday, July 13 the Heritage
Festival begins at 10 a.m. with a Cabbage
Patch Look-alike Contest. Baseball games,
pony rides and train rides all add to the old
time flavor of this village located north of
Flesherton.

Vacation Bible School
set for Vanastra Church
VANASTRA — It's that time of the year
again for Vacation Bible School.
The four S.W.I.M. girls at the Vanastra
Christian Church are Mariann Verboorn,
Nova Scotia, Marian (Susie) De Rose,
Sharon Lankheet and Julie Vandertik all
from Michigan. They will be in Vanastra
five weeks. This first week you might have
met them on their visits in Vanastra -
meeting the people.
Saturday night at 7 p.m. the church will
hold its annual Hayride throuPh Vanastra

for Vacation Bible School Kickoff.
Youngsters are welcome to join in on Mon-
day mornings at 9 a.m. for the start of the
10 -day Bible School. The S:W.I.M. team will
help out and will also spend one week at the
Clinton Christian Reformed Church.
Don't forget the Church Picnic on Sunday,
July 21 at Point Farms. A short service will '
be held first and then everyone is invited to
go to Point Farms for a full Church Service
at 11:30, with picnic to follow.
Radars set busy summer schedule
CLINTON - Summer events were schedul-
ed when the Clinton Golden. Radars senior
citizens group met on June 19.
It was noted that the Recreation Associa-
tion will be hosting Seniors Games in July:
On July 10, euchre will be played. July 17 is
the cribbage date and July 24 is set aside for
Scrabble play.
. The group has planned a Mystery. Tour for •
July 21 and 22. Contact Marg Thorndike if
you're interested in taking part.
The Lake Huron Zone Recreation Associa-
tion will hold the annual Sportsfest in Exeter
on August 16-18. Euchre will be played on
August 17 and participants must have ap-
plications inby July 19. Phone Minlue Rum -

first 56 people to register will be accepted.

and Boyd Taylor of Walton was married to
Ephraim Robert Snell, son of Jim and'

ceremony was herd at the Trinity Anglican
Church, Blyth. Rev. Robin Lyons officiated
at the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Margaret
Kai was organist assisted by Deb Siertsema
as soloist. Pat Stackhouse of Woodstock was
maid of honor, Elaine Brown and Jayne
Snell of Blyth attended as bridesmaids. An-
drew Flowers of Clinton acted as best man.
Ushering guests were Charles Snell' of Clin-
ton and John Lawson of Londesboro. Follow-
ing a dinner and reception at the Goderich
Township Hall the couple honeymooned in
Niagara Falls and the Muskoka region.
