This classic family musical is written by Donald Harron, well known TV talk show host and Norman Campbell, CBC TV varie- ty Director. The authors adapted the story from a novel by L.M. Montgomery. Atule of Green Gables was originally presented in December 1971 as part of the Charlottetown Festival and it is still playing to packed audiences in Prince Edward Island today. Forty performers are involved in this pro- duction which began rehearsals today. Also appearing as Children of Avonlea are school students from the Towns of Ailsa Craig, Strathroy, Grand Bend, Goderich, Corunna and Exeter. Huron Country Playhouse audiences will fondly remember Jack Northmore and Non- nie Griffin who appeared in last season's hit productions. They will be starring as the doting parents of Anne, the orphan tomboy in the Playhouse's opening production of Anne of Green Gables. Anne of Green Gables, a musical that the whole family will love runs from June 28th to July 20 at Huron Country Playhouse. For ticket information, please call (519) 238- 8451.
