Medical Centre
Along; with plans for the new obstetrical
wing, the CPH board of directors have been
working towards the construction of a new
medical centre. The centre will be built ad-
jacent to the hospital on the site of the
former nurses residence.
Property Committee Chairman Bill
Counter reported, "A decision was made to
sell two of the lots to a development firm to
create the medical centre. The decision was
made after the hospital's attempt to become
involved in the exercise proved unwise, un-
satisfactory and impractical. We hope to see
the medical centre occupied before the snow
flies at which time the nurses residence will
be demolished and the space used for much
needed parking."
New board members
The year ahead will also see changes in
the CPH board of directors. After five years
as board chairman, 21 -year board member
Leen Rehorst is retiring.
Also retiring after years of service to the
board are Bob Campbell and Bill Counter
and Marny Walden.
