Edna Cantelon,
98 years young
HURONVIEW- May 19, a happy occasion
took place in the auditorium at Huronview.
Family and friends gathered on this special
day, to honor and celebrate Edna Cantelon's
98th birthday.
Mrs. Cantelon is a remarkable lady, loved
and respected by all who know her. Until
recently, when failing eyesight prevented it,
she was a favorite euchre player, and it was
a pleasure to be in her company.
The May birthday party was held on May
22 witdt a good attendance. In charge of this
event were the ladies from Hurondale
Women's Institute. A variety program con-
sisting of songs and musical numbers was
enjoyed.
Region 3 of the Ontario Association of
Homes for the Aged, held its Spring Con-
ference at St. Joseph's Home in Guelph. The
sessions were interesting and informative,
dealing in part with Rights and Respon-
sibilities of residents. Those attending from
Huronview were Wayne Lester, Jack
Carter, Tim Collyer, Betty McDonald,
Madelon Yaets, Corinne Van Miltenberg,
Pat Elaine Tlianne Ti'llintt Funlirn Arnhpr
Mary Gibbings and Frank Bissett.
On May 23, the mid -week Bible study
group met in the chapel. The call to worship
was led by Milford Prouty. Prayer was
given by Mrs. Eizenga. A number of
choruses was sung, with Elsie Henderson
playing the organ. A poem was read by Mrs.
Eizenga, and a solo was sung by Mrs. Prou-
ty.
'Ice cream day' was held in the
auditorium on May 24, and by the large
number of 'petiole that gathered for this
delicious treat, it was a tremendous uc-
cess. On the serving table, there were two or
three flavors of ice cream with toppings
galore. A dish of ice cream so well
decorated, was certainly a pretty sight and
oh so good to eat. Thanks to the staff who
plans these spepial days for the residents.
Mrs. Vera Lemmon from Hensall has
come to reside at Huronview. A number df
residents attended a tea in Exeter, and were
