Goderich deputy -reeve John Doherty said it
would probably be cheaper if the county set-
tled with Keyes for the amount requested.
The county engineer said the road com-
'mittee had considered that option but pro -
raised the other landowners an equal
amount.
Tuckersmith Reeve Bob Bell also said the
county should pay off Stuart Keyes.

"But it's not fair to condemn everyone
who lives on County Road 3 when the work is
being held up by one person who is a non-

Russel Kernighan.
Murphy said once the landowners have
been served with a notice of the expropria-
tion, they have two options. One is to ap-
proach county council for a decision and the
other is to go to a provincially appointed
board of inquiry. The lawyer noted the coun-
ty is not bound by the board of inquiry's
decision.
After the expropriation notice has ap-
peared in the paper for three weeks, and if
the owner takes no action, the county then
passes a bylaw taking possession of the pro-
perty.

Family histories?
By Mary Chessell
VARNA - The Stanley Township history
group will be meeting on May 15 to decide
whether to include the family histories in the
atlas. In order to come to this decision, a
good turn out is requested.
The meeting will be held in the Complex at
8 p.m.
The five-year-old Collins twins, Kelly (left) and Lori, took part in the Clinton Bike Ride
for Cancer with their grandmother Elizabeth Foster. The trio stopped at the check point
to get their papers initialed by Scott Brown. A total of 26 riders took pact in the May 5 ride
with $1,000 being pledged. This was the first ride for the twins and the third ride for Mrs.
Foster. Those who were unable to participate on May 5 can still pick up a map and kit
from organizer Steve Brown and complete the route on their own. (Anne Narejko photo)
