Reflections, dreams, hopes and wishes
Christmas in the Future
There it was, the most beautiful
Christmas tree in the world. The lights were
alight and it stood three feet tall. As we sat
down for the Christmas dinner my father
told. us of his Christmas in the year 2608. But
how lcould that be? It is only 1984. He said
that as a boy of 14 he had gone to bed but
when he awoke he saw everthing different.
He went to the living room and there was no
tree. Instead he saw a calender. The date
was Tuesday, December 25, 2608 but there
was no tree, no ornaments. There was
nothing so he went out into the world and
there was hardly any one out there. He met
a man so he asked him how he was and he •
said, "Rotten. It's Christmas and there is no
tree." The man asked," What's
Christmas?"
"It's to be happy and merry," said my
father.
The roan asked, "How can I be happy
after what has happened? There's a war
going on and there hasn't been a Christmas
in 100 years."
Just then my father woke up. He had been
dreaming.
I hope that never happens, because
Christmas is a special time of the year when
you should be happy.

If I Were A Reindeer
If I were a reindeer I would not know what to
do.
I would hop around just as puzzled as you, if
I were a reindeer;
Knocking over elves and wrecking presents.
Santa would get mad at .me, but we would
makeup,
And then Santa would be happy.

Christmas Wishes
It happened on Christmas Eve. The family
was sitting by the fire. Heather and I went of
my room and talked about what we wanted
for Christmas. I wanted a Ghetto Blaster
and Heather wanted clothes for here
Cabbage Patch kid.
Then I said, "I want love." Heather said,
"me too."
Then we both went out and I said, "Can we
sing a song?" My mom said, "Yes we can."
Heather and I started the first song. Then
it was time to go to bed. Heather came into
my bed. We talked about our Christmas
wishes.

IfIWereAnElf
If I were an elf I'd work on Christmas
night as Santa's helpers do. I'd make toys
for girls and boys. I'd put the toys in a sack.
Santa would put them in the sleigh and give
them to girls and boys.

In the future Santa Claus may die but it is
very unlikely that he will. Most of his elves
will also live forever but supposing they did
die, replacing the elves would be easy
because all we would have to do would be to
send some robot elves to the north pole. But
could a robot replace Santa? Would
Christmas be the same? Not likely.
Probably there will not be any Christmas,
only a one day school holiday remembering
this fine man.
If a robot could do Santa's job, what about
the reindeer if they died? What would
replace them? A jet pack on the back of the
mechanical robot replacing Santa? A rocket
ship would be too noisy and could be spotted
too easily at night. Mechanical reindeer
would be good except when they landed nn
lace Santa's
the roof they would clank and clatter. A jet
pack on the back of the robot would be good
but would the robot be able to fly with the jet
pack? I guess there won't be Christmas.
If there is though, people will eat pizza
with double cheese instead of eating a nice,
plump, juicy turkey with dressing and
gravy. For dessert instead of Christmas
pudding people will eat a chocolate bar and
then go watch television. But no matter what
happens to Santa, his elves or his reindeer,
Christmas to me will always be the same,
and I hope it will be the same with you and
everyone else on this earth.
