BUM- The Blyth Bears continued their
climb to .ope of the top spots in the Blyth
Broo ntball rieague this past week, as they
remained in fourth place but moved to
within one point of first. So far this year the
Bears have lost three games, however only
one of those defeats has come in regulation
time. The team's strong showing this year is
due to a balanced scoring attack, in which
eight player have shared in the team's fif-
teen goals.
Defensively, the Bears have allowed only
seven goals in regulation play in seven
games.
On November 13, the Bears took on the
undefeated Lucky Devils. The two teams
played to a scoreless draw in regulation
time, due mainly to the outstanding goalten-
ding displayed by the Bears Kevin
Falconer. In overtime, the Devils took a 1- 0
lead, as the league's top scorer Rodger For-
syth connected for the game winner, with
the assist going to John Beadle.'n in-

one assist apiece.
The 8th Liners grabbed a 2 - 0 first period
lead, however they needed a goal with 12
seconds left in the game, to defeat the
Lakelet Hornets 3 - 2. Herb Govier scored
two goals including the game winner for the
8th Liners, with Gordon Machan adding a
goal and an assist, and Arnold Pease two
assists. For the Hornets, Phil Black picked
up one goal and an assist, while Doug de
Boer had one goal and Ron de Boer an
assist.
Sheila Walker set up Jane Vath for the
game's only goal as Lucknow edged the
Goderich Harbourlites 1- 0, Sheila Hunter's
sixth shutout this season.

Roy Fisher, lifted the Auburn Falcons to a 2
- 0 win over the Goderich Oarsmen. Single
