HURONVIFW . The week got off to a good
, 59lttl oddt� music. Marie Flynn and
oixh�• rlveded Ihifigfi PP as they
played arrangements of many. old and new
tunes. This group is a popular one, and
always received with enthusiasm at Huron-
view.
Oct, 21 was a special day as residents and
some staff members enjoyed a meal of Dix-
ie Lee chicken. There was plenty of food in-
cluding interesting salads and ice cream.
Thanks goes to all the people involved in this
special treat.
Aftertbe,ipeal, entertainment was provid-
ed by a talenteft group from Goderich known
as the Fog Horns. 'Since this is the year of
Ontario's Bicentennial, it was fitting, that
the cast menet rs of, this production looked
bank into the history of Huron County, and
remembered°people and events 1.e_11t made
the county what it 1S today. In so doing,
came up with.a .beautiful idea and some
very interesting facts that were set to music
and sone
To give an example, was the story told of
Colonel Anthony VanEgmond, who was
commissioned to build the Huron Road. He
built not only the road, but also three
taverns, fell in love with the area, and mov-
ed to Seaforth, His men had much clearing
to do, and they soon learned the
lumbermen's songs, one of which was Little

If you haven't heard the Fog Horns, you
have missed an excellent show. Members of
the cast were Bonnie Dunn leader, George
Griffins, Ralph Irenderson, Shirley
McMillan, Caroly Myers, Joan Henwood,
Hillie Moen and Bob Henry.
Students from Conestoga College were
given a tour of Huronview, and were quite
impressed.

Ed Stiles entertained. the residents
Thursday afternoon, as he p'lay'ed selections
on the chapel organ.
Rev. Normal} Pick conducted Sunday
morning worship in the chapel. During the
service Elsie Henderson and Margaret Mc-
Queen sang a duet.

CLINTON - Lois Fitzgerald was hostess to
the Clinton Exemplar Chapter of Beta
Sigma Phi on Oct. 23. She led the members
in a discussion on assertiveness and direc-
ting their own lives. She showed a film titl-
ed, "Does Anyone;. Need You Anymore" and
continued discussion after the film.
With new information available, discus-
sion was re -opened on the donation to the
Clinton Public Hospital from the proceeds
from the fashion show. It was decided to
purchase an X-ray iminobilizer in lieu of the
St. Joseph's & St. Michael's

books were also collected to replenish the
supply in the children's corner at the
hospital.
Grocery tapes from Zehrsand I.G.A. were
also collected and sent in ,whish should
realize another $150 toward the general
community projects at Christmas.
Following the business meeting, the social
committee got everyone into the spirit. of
Hallowe'en carving jack -o -lanterns. From
the bizarre collection, judge Jim Fitzgerald
awarded prizes to Vivienne Roy for the most
"boo"-tiful pumpkin and to Lois Fitzgerald
for the scariest. The ladies then modelled a
weird and wonderful collection , of
Hallowe'en Hats of their own creation and
Marie Blacks "lighted wonder" took the
prize for the fanciest hat while Rita Van
Dykes animal friend was awarded the fun-
niest.
Lois also won a prize for being the first to
utter the secret word, "WITCH" and
Audrey Kemp, born on October 31, for the
birthday closest to Hallowe'en. How close
can you get?!
