30 seconds into the game, was the margin of
victory, as the Lakelet Hornets recorded a 1
-0 win over the Goderich Oarsmen.
On Oct. 25, two goals by Doug Cousins led
the Maitland Dirt Riders to a 3 -1 upset over
the Blyth Inn Bandits. The Dirt Riders'
other goal went to Bob Stute, while Kevin
Pennington, Iden Pennington and Hank
Pardys picked up one assist each. The Ban-
dits' lone goal was scored by Eric Cook.
Gail Semple picked up the hat trick in
leading Brussels to a 4 - 0 triumph over
Yogi's Girls. Brussels other goal went to
Patricia Willie, with Sandy Huether and
Pam Clark adding one assist apiece.
The Lucky Devils erupted for six goals, in
the first six minutes of the second period, on
their way to an 8 - 0 romp over the Auburn
Falcons. Mike Schumaker and Rick Louther
had two goals and one assist each for the
Devils. while Hono Medeiros added one goal
and two assists, Donnie Carter one goal and
an assist, John Beadle and Lin Hewitt one
goal apiece, and Al Forsyth and Rodger
Forsyth picked up one assist each.
The Goderich Harbourlites and Blyth
Baintoneers battled to a 1-1 overtime draw.
Kendra Youngblut gave the Baintoneers a 1
- 0 lead in overtime, with the assist going to
Allison Graham. However, Cindy Smith's
unassisted effort tied the game for the Har-
bourlites. Two shorthanded goals by Ron de
Boer led the Lakelet Hornets to a 4 - 0 vic-
tory over the Blyth Bears. Kent Howatt had
one goal and an assist for the Hornets, while
Dave Ireland added a single goal. In the
assist category, Doug de Boer collected two, -
while Gary Hesselwood picked up one for
Lakelet.
Skate-a-thon
set for Saturday
Excitement is growing for the Blyth
Skate-a-thon on Saturday, November 3.
If you need a pledge sheet there are still a
few left at Scrimgeour's Family Market.
Anyone who skates is invited to participate.
Following are the Skate-a-thon Rules:
1. Six hours -of skating (8& up) .
2. Two hours of skating (7 & under).
3. Hand in pledge sheets before going on ice.
4. Must stay on the ice (off only at Break
Times).
5. Please obey the traffic controllers.
6. No tag, racing, crack the whip, etc.
7. When finished skating, pick up your
pledge sheet and receive your award.
8. All pledged money to be handed in on Nov.
17 at the arena.
Financing for the heat pump, deh-amidifer and air conditioner at the Blyth Community
Centre was reduced recently thanks to a $500 donation from the Londesboro Lions Club.

Lost heir winners at the weekly lost heir
games last week at the Blyth Memorial Hall
were: High Lady: Mary Holland; Low
Lady, Ruth Shields; High Man: Charlie
Smith; Low Man: Joe Holmes. There was
five tables in play. NO Lost heir will be
played next week.
The Blyth Euchre was held Monday even -
Members lead service

Jackson.

Lady celebrates
101st birthday
Congratulations to Mrs. Edith Logan of
Huronview (formerly of Blyth) who will
celebrate her 101st brithday on November 5.
An Open House will be held in her honor on
Saturday, November 3 at Huronvew from 2
p.m. to 45p.m. Everyone is welcome.
Final meeting
On Oct. 24, the Waist Watchers held their
final meeting at Eunice Emke's. The
members checked their books and played
the "Animal, Vegetable, Sport" game. The
members also helped prepare the cen-
trepiece for Achievement Night before clos-
ing the meeting with the motto.

those attending the church were greeted by

.Rev. Snihur welcomedall and announced
the flowers on the memoriam stand were
from the funeral of Dave McLeod of Mit-
chell who died suddenly Oct. 24 at age 83.
Rev. Snih}ir expressed sympathy ,to Mr.
McLeod's wife Mabel and sons and relations
there.
In other announcements, a film titled
"Focus on the family" will be the first
shown by Dr. James Dobson on Oct. 30 in the
Blyth Theatre.
The children's story was "Thislittle light
of mine" with Sylvia Trick and Donna Shad -
dick as the teachers.

reside at Huronview on Oct. 25.
Several people from Londesboro visited •
with the family of Dave McLeod at the
Lockhart Funeral I•Tome in Mitchell and also
attended the funeral Oct. 27. He died sud-
denly at his home Oct. 24 at age 83.
