Eight new businesses open
Shops enhance business area
A variety of new shops have opened in Clinton in the
past year. Each have helped' to provide area shoppers
with a greater selection of services and shopping needs
The Cutting Edge
In business for just over a year now, The Cutting Edge,
provides professional hair styling for men, women and
children.
When Shirley Buruma opened her shop in November
1983, she fulfilled a longtime dream, to own her own
business.
Well known in Clinton, Shirley previously work at Les
Ciseaux Deux, as well as a Goderich hair styling shop.
The Cutting Edge staff includes Shirley., Stacey Plant
and Astrid Plasschaert.
Star Time Video
The latest in movies and rock concerts came to Clinton
late last fall when Star Time Video set up shop in the Vic-
toria Street plaza.
Star Time Video is the second video rental store owned
by Pat Knight. His other shop is located in Exeter.
Star Tirne Video offers more than 1,000 movies and
music concerts for rent and sale. The inventory includes
discs, VHS cassette and Beta tapes.
The video store also features monthly memberships,
where customers can rent videos and players at reduced
rates.
New Orleans
Clinton's newest -pizza eatery opened just in time to feed
hungry New Year's Eve crowds:
New Orleans opened on December 28 at the former Piz-
za Train restauranton Huron Street.
The house specialty at New Orleans is square party piz-
zas and seven kinds of submarine sandwiches.
The Clinton New Orleans location is one of the more
than 20 outlets in southern Ontario.
Clinton Farm Market
Providing fresh produce is what the Clinton Farm
Market is all about. Owner Morris Roberts, sells a variety
of fruits and vegetables, fresh eggs at his Victoria Street.

The name of this main street shop says it all. Owner
Janet Buchanan offers an extensive inventory, specially
chosen to please and tantalize the tastebuds.
More than 30 varieties of delicate and robust cheeses,
homemade chocolates, imported teas and gourmet treats,
jams and biscuits, cookies and bulk candies and dried
fruits are sold at Everything Good. The shop also
specializes in party tray preparation.
B&M Rentals
Need a tool for an odd job? B&M Rentals of Highway 4
West can probably help.
A new concept in tool and equipment needs, B&M Ren-
tals offers a wide selection' of equipment suited for in-
dividual needs at home, on the farm, in the garden or for
your vehicle maintenance.
The Clinton location of B&M Rentals is the second store
established by owner Bill Crump. His first store is located
in Wingham.
Karen's Salon
When it comes to beauty and skin care, Karen's Salon of
Aesthetics is the place to visit.,
Owner Karen Archer studied cosmetology in Waterloo
for two years, worked in a reputable Kitchener salon, then
came home to Clinton to set up her own business.
Karen's Salon specializes in manicures; facials, waxing
and cosmetics and European Facials.
Damien's
Clinton'siewest restaurant is located in one of the
town's former well established eating places.
Damien Bradley has taken the former Kum -in
Restaurant, given it a new look and a new name - Da -
mien's.
This young businessman opened his Ontario Street
establishment only last week. Damien's is 'open from
breakfast until supper, seven days a week. ,The extensive
menu offers a variety of appetizers, entrees, snacks and
beverages.
