Christmas events
for all age groups
The Clinton Business Improvement Area Promotion
Committee has planned a number of special events for the
downtown core for the Christmas season. These special
events mean savings and eye pleasing sights for the Clin-
ton shoppers.
Activities get underway •on November 16 when local
stores hold their annual kick-off to Christmas shopping.
Special sales will be held from 4 to 11 p.m., offering
bargains for those early Christmas shoppers.
Be sure to be on the Clinton streets at 7 p.m. as the
Festival of Lights promises to brighten both the streets
and the people's spirits.
Plans are to light a huge Christmas tree in the Town
Hall -Library Park and place a large lighted star on top.
Christmas choirs will be singing in the background and
free hot chocolate will be served nearby from 7 to 7:45
p.m.
In order to light up the entire downtown area, the Pro-
motion Committee, with the co-operation of store owners,
hope to turn Christmas lights on in each store window
simultaneously. The downtown decorations will light up at
7 p.m. as well.
Bicentennial celebrations
November 16 will also be the day when Clinton and area
residents celebrate Ontario's 200th birthday, with a gala
bicentennial program.
The daylong celebrations promises to offer entertain-
mentand fun for all ages.
