Presbyterial by its President Mrs. Peebles;
from Stratford - Huron Presbytery by its
Moderator Rev. Ross Macdonald, minister
of St. Andrew's; Stratford; from St. An-
drew's W.M.S. groups by Mrs. Norman
Coulthard; and from Huron by Mrs. Clayton
H. Edwards of Goderich.
The ladies of Listowel groups presented
a historical sketch, dressed in fashions of

Robert Clark Gibson of Wroxeter and. Janice
Muriel Allin of RR 4 Goderich were married
at Benmiller United Church on September
22. Rev. John D.M. Wood conducted the
ceremony. The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. John Gibson of Wroxeter and the bride
is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Allin of RR 4 Goderich, Heather Martin of
RR 2 Goderich, the bride's cousin, was
matron of honor. Bridesmaids included the
bride's sister-in-law, Pattie Agin of
Goderich; friend of the bride,' Marian Rock
of Goderich, and. the groom's sister, Mary
Ellen Gibson of Wroxeter. Flowergirls were
the groom's nieces, Jennifer and Krista Gib-
son of Wroxeter. Michael Gibson of Wrox-
eter, brother of the groom, was best man.
Ushers were, the bride's brother, Larry
Allin of Goderich; friend of the groom; Stan
Small of Wingham and the groom's brother,
Doug Gibson of Moonbeam, Ont.
Ringbearers were the bride's cousins,
Christopher and Scott Bromley of Blyth. A
wedding reception was held at the Saltford
Valley Hall. The newlyweds honeymooned
at Tobermory and Manitoulin Island. Their
home is at 196 St. David Street, Goderich.

Rick Elliott of Blyth and Anne Lavis of Clin-
ton were married at Ontario Street United
Church, Clinton on September 29. Rev. Nor-
man Pick officiated. The groom is the son of
John and Bev Elliott of Blyth and the bride
is the daughter of John and Gwen.Lavis of
RR 2 Clinton. Special music was provided
by piper Jim Muir, soloist Jackie Norman
and pianist Louise McGregor. A friend of
the bride, Sharon East of Sarnia, was maid
of honor. Bridesmaids were Karen Cook,
Laureen Craig, Kathy, Staddon and Margie
Wise, all of Clinton. The junior bridesmaids
were Sherri Levis of Clinton, McKenna
Lavis of Holmesville and Leeanne Levis of
RR 5 Clinton, all nieces of the bride. Another
niece, Kathy Lavis of RR 5 Clinton was
fldwergirl. The groom's brother, Neil Elliott
of Blyth, was best man. Ushers' were Jeff
Watson of Burlington, Glenn McGregor of
Brucefield, Ritchie Cox of Clinton and Allan
Levis of Clinton, The ringbearer was. a
cousin of the groom, Kurt Elliott of RR 1
Bellwood. The wedding reception was held
at the Goderich Township Community Cen-

Few vacancies at
CLINTON - A general meeting of the Clin-
ton Co-op Nursery School was held October
10 with a good number of parents in atten-
dance.
The registrar Mrs. Anne Ball, explained
that there were now only five vacancies left,
one for Monday classes, two for Wednesday,
and two for Thursday classes.
Mrs. Gail Brownridge summarized the
themes and activities that the children had
been involved with during the months of
September and October; namely Fall,
Harvest and Thanksgiving. Mrs. Sally

meeting and their speaker was Mrs. Daniel
Gordon, first President of Stratford
Presbyterial.
Seven Past Presidents were presented
with corsages by Mrs. Robert McTavish of
Stratford, First Vice -President, Mrs. Stuart
Peebles; President, was presented with an
Honorary Membership Certificate and pin
by Mrs. H.H.G. Strong of Exeter, a Past
President and Mrs. Clayton H. Edwards,
Co -President of Stratford - Huron
Presbyterial.
Accompanying herself on the piano, Anne
Gilchrist of St. Andrew's Church sang, "It is
Better to Light one Little Candle" and "May
the Good Lord Bless and Keep You."
Mrs. Norman Coulthard of Stratford in-
troduced the speaker, Mrs. Kenneth Rayner
of Paris, President of Hamilton - London
Synodical. She said when Christ is guiding
us, His light shines through like the prisms
on a chandelier reflecting the light of the
sun. The first W.M.S. members left their
light burning, and she recalled how they did
their housework. Mrs. Robert McTavish
thanked her.
The offerings were to be used for the
African Famine Relief Appeal.

Community. Field trips which might relate
to the current themes were also discussed.
Itwas suggested that the Hallowe'en Par-
ty be held on Wednesday, October 31 for
both classes.
Thanks again to Gail Brownridge for do-
ing such a splendid job of teaching our pre-
schoolers during the months of September
and October. Good luck too for Sally
McNichol as she returns.
Our next general meeting is to be held
Wednesday, November 14 at 8:00

HURONVIEW - The van was available on
October 17, for residents wishing to go on a
drive through the country. October 18 was a
busy day and in the morning, the van was
available for outings.
Some residents have taken a keen interest
in bowling, and go in to the bowling alley in
Clinton, to try their skill at knocking down
the pins. Ladies from 2nd Floor are getting
into crafts, and making Christmas wreaths.
Jane. Ladd and Evelyn Archer attended a
craft workshop at Milverton and brought
back new and interesting ideas.
Mrs. M. Prouty conducted Bible Study,
and led in the singing of hymns, held in the
chapel Thursday afterngon. The scripture
lesson was read by Olive McMillen. A
visualized memory verse taken from John
5:24 was given by Shirley Prouty.
Roman Catholic Mass conducted by
Father John Pinta, was held in the chapel on
October 19. In the afternoon, residents
enjoyed bingo. Rev. Norman Pick
conducted Sundaymorning worship in the
chapel. There was a good attendance. A
bouquet of yellow 'mums was placed at the
front of the chapel by Fran McLean.
Huronview welcomed Mabel Counter .of
Clinton, who has come to reside at
Huronview. To the families of the late Belva
Taylor and. Mary Jamieson, sympathy is
expressed.
October 15 was a busy day as final touches
were applied to some of the articles that
would be on display at the bazaar.
Decorations in the auditorium were
completed and the room was very attractive
in autumn colours, that complemented the
theme of the Fall Tea and Bazaar. The
women of the Huronview Auxiliary presided
over the tea tables, and pouring tea were
Mrs. W. Lester, Mrs.. Tim Collyer and Mrs.
Bowman.
• Mary Gibbings welcomed everyone to the
festivities of the afternoon. The bake tables
with all its goodies, was a popular spot. This
fall there was more variety and quantity,
and naturally appealed to everyone. It
wasn't long until the table was empty of its
goods. Other tables displayed many useful

Scottish wedding, the Bride and Groom and entire wedding party left the church in
horse drawn carriages.

were novelty articles too, that caught the
interest . of the customers. The sales went
exceptionally well.
--Muffins and tea biscuits garnished with
cheese and marmalade were served, and
added that extra touch, as friends and
neighbors chatted over the tea cups.
Edith Logan, a remarkable lady and
perhaps Huronview's oldest resident, drew •
the lucky tickets on the draw. Annie
McNichol, another resident, was the winner
of the handmade pillow, and the , box .of
groceries was won by Anne Narejko of
Goderich.
Tuesday evening, October 16, a supper
was. held . at . Wesley WilllsUnited Church; -
for the blind people of this area. After the
meal, entertainment was provided by Marie
Flynn and orchestra. Those attending from
Huronview were Edna Cantelon, Greta
Lamrnie, Frank Crich and Jim Ruddock

The afternoon closing hymn was "To God
be the Glory."
The anniversary dinner was held in Knox
Presbyterian Church at 6 p.m.
The evening program held in St. Andrew's
started at 7:45 p.m. with a hymn -sing led by
Mrs. William Harvey of Newton, with Mrs.
Glen Allen of Milverton at the piano. After
the Call to Worship by Mrs. Peebles, "Lord
of Light" was sung.
Mrs. Elaine Thomson of Harrington
W.M.S. presented a tribute to Mrs. Daniel
Gordon, First Presdient of Stratford
Presbyterial.
The special music was a trio from Avon -
ton - Mrs. Oliver Stacey, Mrs. Henry
MacNeill, and Mrs. Jack Mathison who sang
"The Love of God is Greater Far."
The Old Testament scripture was read by
Mrs. Donald McTavish and the New Testa-
ment by Mrs. Peter McTavish both of
Shakespeare. They were Isaiah 60:1 to 3 and
19 to 22 and John 8:12 to 20.
An impressive candlelighting ceremony
followed when a representative from each of
the Societies in Stratford - Huron
Presbyterial lit a candle from a larger can-
dle lit by the Co -President, Mrs. Peebles.
Holy Communion was served by the
Reverend Linda Brown, an Area Educa-
tional Consultant. The Communion Hymn
was "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross".
The Prayer of Confession and Litany of
Thanksgiving were read responsively. After
a prayer of Thanksgiving and the Lord's
Prayer in unison, a hymn was sung and the
Reverend Linda Brown pronounced the
Benediction.
Duff's United Church in Walton was the set-
ting for the October 20 wedding of Paul
Steven Forbes and Laura Marie Dennis,
both of London. Rev. Charles A. Swan con-
ducted the service. The groom is the son of
the Don and Marilyn Forbes of Clinton and
the bride's parents are Murray and Olene
Dennis of Walton. Her sister, Elaine Dennis
of Walton was maid of honor. Another sister,
Peggy Wakabayashi of London was
bridesmaid, along with Barb Forbes of Clin-
ton, a cousin of the groom. The bride's
cousin, Allison Sinclair of Essex was
flowergirl. The goomsman was a friend of
the bride and groom, Terry Smith of Walton.
The groom's brother, Brad Forbes of Clin-
ton and the bride's brother, Steven Dennis of
Walton, were ushers. A reception was held
at the Goderich Township Community Cen-
tre. The newlyweds are living in London.
