CLINTON - The following is a report from
the Cljnton Legion Poppy Chairman
Cotarade Steve Maguire on the Poppy drive
set for November U.
Church Parade
This year the Legion will join the
congregation of the St, Joseph's Roman
Catholic Church for Sunday Church Service,
Nov. 4, at 11:00 a.m. Please meet at the
Branch 140 for a short parade to the church
at 10:30 a.m.
During the annual Poppy drive, Legion
members will canvass the Town of Clinton
on Monday night, November 5, starting at
7:00 p,m. This is one night that many hands
make the work easier for all.
The Remembrance Day.Service will start
in the Legion Hall, Branch 140 Clinton Nov.
11 at 9:30 a.m. After the service the parade
will move to the Cenotaph for the 11:00 a.m.

Members of the Clinton Branch 140 Legion
while in Scotland were presented with a
bronze medallion from the Earl of Mansfield
to commemorate the visit of the Ontario
Massed Legion Pipes and Drums to Scone
Palace on August 26. This bronze medallion
will be put in display in the new showcase.
Sports Results
Harold Black had a high single hand of 87
during euchre play Oct. 16. John Semple led
with lone hands at five and Harold
McPherson had the low score of 54.
There were 12 tables present and while it
was a very good turnout, more people are
needed. Everyone is welcome.
During mixed darts games on October 18,
Annie Sailows and John Greidanus scored as
high couple for the evening. Colin Parker
had the high men's score with 130 and Joyce
Cook won the high women's score with 140.
The low couple were Brenda Bottema and
Brenda Atkinson.
Coming Events
Ladies are asked to bring lunch for the
mixed cribbage evening, October 26 at 8:30.
Everyone is welcome.
Zone cribbage takes place on Saturday,
October 27 at noon.
Also on October 27 the Town of Clinton
wine and cheese party will take place at the
Clinton Legion between 4 and 6 p.m.

Dozens of people filed past the tables set up in the basement of St. Andrew's Presbyterian
Church in Clinton on Oct. 20. The church was holding its Autumn Days Bazaar and
featured bake and craft tables and a table for the Sunday School, "the best table" accor-

Scarf booth planned for bazaar
CLINTON - The Golden Radars Senior
Citizens Club met on Oct. 17.
Special mention was made of Ed Johns
and Harold Tyndall who are in hospital. A
donation was sent to the hospital in memory
of the late Lillian Orpen. Carnations and
cards were sent to Lorna Radford and
Margaret Bridle.
President Muriel Jones reported on the
zone rally, held recently in Dashwood.
Plans were made for the Clinton Town
Hall Grand Re -opening Celebrations, from
Oct. 27 to Nov. 3. Oct. 30 is Seniors Afternoon
and Golden Radar members will serve
coffee and cookies.
Three new members were welcomed to
the club. Ida Godkin was chosen as the new
member on the Horizon Committee.
Euchre was played and winners were:
Minlue Rumball, Dora Heard, Millie Nott
and Ida Wright.
