LaCroix, both of Brucefield, were married
at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clinton on
August 24. Father John Pinta officiated..The
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Fraser of _::rucefield and the bride is the
daughter of Rose LaCroix of Clinton and the
late Norman LaCroix. Matron of honor was
Chris Wise of RR 4, Seaforth and a nleee of
the bride, Karin Nortsrum of Ottawa was
junior bridesmaid. Other bridesmaids were
Lori Fitzpatrick also of Ottawa and Leslie
Campbell of Exeter: Dave Anderson of Clin-
ton was the best manand the junior usher
was Duane Hays of Hesson. The other
ushers were Steve O'Connell of Clinton and
Kevin Paterson of Stratford. A reception
was held at the Clinton Legion Hall. After a
trip to the east coast, the couple made their

Gary Richmond, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce
Richmond of Blyth and Marlene Penn-
ington, daughter of Mrs. Jack Pennington of
Brussels were married at St. John's
Anglican Church in Brussels on August 18.
Rev. Robin Lyons officiated. Karen
Stewart, a sister of the groom, was matron
of honor. Bridesmaids were Heather Wilson
and Janice Shine, friends ,of the bride. The
bride's niece, Sharie Jacklin was flowergirl.
Best man was Rick Smith, friend of the

brother-in-law of the groom. Organist was
Sharon Stephenson, friend of the bride and
soloist was Bonnie' Jacklin, sister of the
bride. A reception was held at the Brussels,

Wesley -Willis United Church in Clinton..
Rev. Stan MacDonald officiated. The groom
is the son of Marj and Bill Dobson of Clinton
and the bride is the daughter of Joyce Btu. -
bine and Bill Burbine of Goderich. Kim
Isaac, a friend of the bride, was bridesmaid
and best man was Tim Addison, a friend of
the groom. Terry Dobson, brother of the
groom, was usher. Following dinner at
Wesley -Willis Church, a reception was held

Radar Club assured the use
of the meeting room at town hall
CLINTON - Thirty-eight senior citizens at-
tended the October meeting of the Clinton
Golden Radar Club.
President Muriel Jones read a letter from
Clinton Town Clerk Cam Proctor, assuring
the club use of a meeting room in the
renovated town hall auditorium. The letter
noted that the contents of the room will be
insured.
Another letter was read, establishing the
dates of the town hall grand re -opening,
from October 27 to November 3.
Part of the New Horizon Grant, awarded
to the club by the provincial government,
was received. The grant, totalling over
$4,000 will be used to purchase furnishings
for the meeting room.
Hazel Parker read the secretary's report
arid Caeilia Edgait gave ” the freastiter sem'
report. '
It was noted that Ed Johns and Vera Gibb-
ings are in hospital, but Edna Stewart is
home from hospital. A carnation was sent to
Mrs. Stewart and a card was sent to Elda
Stephens.
Golden Radar Club members sent a box off
fruit to Norman .Ball of Huronview, former-
ly of Clinton, who celebrated his 100th birth-
day recently. Several Golden Radars help
Mr. Ball celebrate his birthday.
Wat Webster visited Flora Dawson and
Mr. Johns in hospital.
Minlue Rumball and Reta Wright were
scheduled to attend the zone rally in
Dashwood this week. They plan to invite
senior citizen groups to Clinton for the spr-
ing rally.

FORSTER'S BRIDGE
The County of Huron hereby invites the public to attend the
official -opening ceremonies, of Forster's Bridge on County
Road 31 north of King's Highway No.8 at 10:00 a.m. local
time:
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12, 1984
The Honorable James Snow and other dignitaries will
participate in the opening of the longest bridge on the
County Road System.

Christmas Party be held on December 5 at
Wesley -Willis United Church. This was ap-
proved.
After the meeting euchre' was played and
high scorers were Reta Wright and Wilma
McNichol.' Low scorers were Margaret
Thorndike and Eleanor Fisher.
Program co-ordinators for the next
meeting are Gladys Hoggarth, Ernie and
Bernice Brown.

Area Obituaries
Joesph Storey
Joesph McIntosh McClare Storey of Clin-
ton, died in St. Joesph's. Hospital, London,
on October 1 at the age of 78.
He was born in Ethel, Ontario on
September 19, 1906 to John and Margaret
Storey. In 1934 he married Sarah E. Howatt
and the couple lived in Westfield, Hullett
and Goderich Townships,
Mr. Storey farmed in G ': erich Townshi
worked in building constru on and wor - d
at the Canadian Forces Base ': He
also worked at National Shuffle. + ... o. and
Sky Harbour in Goderich. He was a member
of St. James Anglican Church in Middleton.
Mr. Storey is predeceased by his wife who
died in May, 1984, his son, Francis and one,
brother, Frank. He is survived by one son
James, and two grandchildren, Lisa and Bill
Storey. His is also survived by eight
brothers and five Sisters: William, Orville,
Charles and Harold of Seaforth; Ted of Lon-
don; Elwood of Woodstock; Lloyd of Strat-
ford; and Arnold of Milverton. Sisters are,
Mrs. Jack (Tilly) Earle of Athens, Mrs.
Wilmer (Kathleen) Cuthill of Seaforth, Mrs.
Ehner (Clara) Dale of Clinton, Mrs. George
(Margaret) Wasson of Blyth, and Mrs. Ar-
thur (Mavis) Guest of St. Clements.
Funeral services were held on October 4
at St. James Anglican Church, Middleton.
Rev. Aubrey Bell officiated with the
assistance of Rev. Douglas Pitts. Beattie
Funeral Home in Clinton made the ar-
rangements.
Interment was held in Clinton and
pallbearers were Tom Rathwell, Robert
Stirling, Frank Thompson, Don Middleton,
Ray Wise and John Hoogerdorn.
Lillian Orpen
Lillian A. Orpen of Clinton died at the Clin-
ton Public Hospital on October 6 at the age
of 77.
The former Lillian Glew was born on
November- 10, 1906 to Francis and Anne
Glew in Hullett Township.
On June 26, 1933 she married Abram M.G.
Orpen. The couple lived in Timmins, Wind-
sor, Dunnville, Niagara Falls and Hamilton
before returning to Clinton in 1945.
Mrs. Orpen was a Past Noble Grand of the
Huronic Rebekah Lodge 306. The Lodge held
a memorial service for her on October 7. She
was also a member of the Golden Radar
Club, the UCW and Wesley -Willis United
Church in Clinton.
Mrs. Orpen was predeceased by her hus-
band in November of 1978 and one brother,
William. Surviving is one daughter, Mrs.
Robert (Gail) McClymont of Guelph, and
one brother, Harold of Clinton. Also surviv-

Friends were received at the Beattie
Funeral Home in Clinton. Ft;lneral services
were held on October 8 with Rev. James
Bechtel officiating.
Interment was in the Clinton Cemetery
and pallbearers were nephews Paul Munroe
of Kitchener, Rory Munroe of Toronto,
Frank Glew of Kitchener, Ralph Glew of
Dorchester, Randal Glew of Clinton, and
George McDonald of London.
D.H. Miles
Former Huron County Agricultural
Representative D.H. Miles died September
28 of a heart attack.
Mr. Miles was born on November 12, 1918
in Milliken in York County, northeast of
Toronto. He lived on the family farm which
consisted of beef, swine and cash crops.
He graduated from the Ontario
Agricultural School in 1942 from the
Chemistry option with his B.S.A. degree.
Mr. Miles did his undergraduate employ-
ment in nutrition at the Ontario Agricultural
College.
Following his graduation, Mr. Miles farm-
ed on the family farm for five years at which
time he was very active in Junior Farmers
and 411 Club work.
In 1947 he joined the Extension Branch
and was Assistant in many counties. Two
years later he was appointed Agricultural
Representative in Kingston, Frontenac
County.
In 1957 he was transferred and became the
Agricultural Representative in Huron Coun-
ty. He was also the Professional Agrologist
with the Extension Branch, Ontario Depart-
ment of Agriculture and Food located in
Clinton.
In 1968, Mr. Miles was transferred to
Toronto where he worked at the head office
as Farm Business Management Consultant.
In 1977 Mr. Miles was transferred to Pro-
grams CO -ordinator Secretariat OMAF as
Farm Management Specialist and Area Co-
ordinator. Then in 1982 he was transferred
to the Agricultural Representative Branch
as Farm Management Specialist.
On January 1, 1983 he became the Farm
Business Advisor for counties in the Toronto
Area. On November 30 of the same year,
Mr. Miles retired. When he wasn't work-
ing, Mr. Miles enjoyed curling, golfing,
gardening and woodworking. His wife,
Alberta, now resides at 63 Kimberdale Cres-
cent, Agincourt, Ontario, M1W 1Y4.
Funeral services for Mr. Miles were held
on October 1 at Odgen's Funeral Home in
Agincourt.
