Gayle Harrison of Seaforth and Barry Cleave of Brucefield. Mr. and Mrs. James Flannigan, formerly of Seaforth, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 6. Married at St. Thomas Anglican Church on October 6,1934, they now reside in Hamilton. An at-home party was given by their sons and wives and members of their families, and friends. Attending were guests from Goderich, Kippen,' Seaforth, Sarnia, Stoney Creek, Willowdale, and Toronto, and neighbours and friends in Hamilton. Mr. and Mrs. Alex McGregor spent the weekend in Hamilton attending the 50th anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Flannigan. She noted that the Pilgrim's first Thanksgiving celebrations were for being able to survive, as well as to prosper in their harsh new environment. Dianne Kirton went to a great deal of work in gathering corn cobs, straw wreaths and other materials, and showed how to make Thanksgiving wreaths. Her daughter Susan was a big help, too, in getting everything laid out, even thinking to provide water and aloe vera in case 'someone was burned by the hot glue. I'm sure all of the members were pleased with the result of their efforts, although a frequently heard comment was, "I'm not artistic". Seniors to meet in Holmesville • By Blanche Deeves HOLMESVILLE - The Enterprising Seniors met last Thursday evening in the Community Centre with John Semple in charge. Alice' Porter read the minutes of the last meeting in the absence of Charlotte Norman. Frank Yeo gave the treasurer's report. Bayfield seniors have accepted an invitation to join the Enterprising Seniors in Holmesville on November 1. The president and first and second vice presidents will handle the entertainment. Frank Yeo will buy the prizes. The lunch committee includes Effie Yeo, Hilda Semple, and Mary Stirling. Blanche Deeves gave 'the card report. Gerald Orr read a poem on retirement and told of a recent trip he went on. Alice Porter gave a few readings. People report Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Jantzi who are the proud parents of a baby boy. Welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Brad Morgan and two children to Holmesville. They have the Cudmore home. On Sunday morning at Holmesville United Church, Thanksgiving and communion were celebrated. The church was decorated with fall flowers.
