The Thanksgiving sentiments expressed in prayers, hymns, scriptures and medita- tion were uplifting and the roll call was answered by what each was thankful for. Mary Campbell gave a thought-provoking account of ' poor working conditions in Korea, especially of women in textile industries, their struggle to improve them and the part the women played in the formation of Trade Unions. One lady, thrust into jail for defying the law, studied the Scripture while there, and by so doing realized she was on the right track. On her release, without fear, she worked successfully for women workers' rights. Marjorie East gave the treasurer's report. Leader Evelyn Smith outlined plans for the Bonanza in November - used clothing sale on November 7, 8 and 9, and the bazaar and continued sale of shoes and children's wear on the 10th. She also spoke about the Thankofferina service next Sunday, October 14 at 8 p.m., when Kim Crawford of Waterloo will relate a few of her experiences in Australia where she spent last year. Kim is still a teenager. About people Lost Heir will start the new season on October 17 at 8 p.m. in the Blyth Memorial Hall. Everyone is welcome. Come and bring a friend. Liberation in the classroom Grades 7 and 8 students at Seaforth and Goderich schools now have access to both family studies and industrial arts. While technically not new, superintendent of program Arnold Mathers said female students now take industrial arts and male students takd family studies. And that is new. He said that previously students had no choice because they took the subjects as a class - either of boys•or girls. Now, he said the students, in a co-ed en- vironment, take one subject for half a year and the other for the rest of the year. The integration comes about as a result of the revamping of the Grades 7 to 12 educa- tion system in the document known as OSIS - Ontario Schools, Intermediate and Senior. - Elementary schools in Wingham, Exeter and Clinton don't have industrial arts and family study facilities.
