Clinton News-Record, 1984-10-10, Page 3(in • A $2,200 donation from the Clinton Police Force to Clinton Public Hospital has helped purchase a new IV Pump for the obstetrics ward. Nursing director Jean Cox accepted the cheque from Police Chief Lloyd Westlake. Thedonation was raised at the summer Police Golf Tournament. Similar fund raising events over the years have helped force donate more than $5,000 to the hospital. (Shelley McPhee photo) Clinton 4-H dubs meet CLINTON--The.third meeting of the. Clint ton I 4-H Club was held at the home of Joy Taylor on September',4. The 4-H Club met at the track of CHSS and ran a mile run. Members then went to Joy's home. The meeting opened with the 4-H pledge then members went to their cooking. While the food was cooking they read through the meeting and had a discussion about the meeting. After the food was cook- ed they ate chili, salad and fruit custard. The meeting came to a close and members thanked Joy for the use of her home. Presi- dent and Secretary: Shana Hutchings. The fourth meeting of Clinton I, was held at the home of Shelley and Slkana Hutchings The meeting started with a 4-11 pledge and then members read through the meeting and had a discussion about the meeting and went straight to the cooking. While the food was cooking, they went into the livingroom and did some exercises. After the food was finished cooking, members ate bran muffins, cheesey pop- corn, apple jog nog, and hot spiced milk. They brought the meeting to a close and thanked Shelley and Shane for the use of their home. "Variety Night" will feature a variety of local individuals and groups performing their talents. Break dancers, vocal groups, stepdancers, a skipping group and in- strumental groups, will all be part of this entertaining evening. Tuesday, October 30 is "Community Day" and will feature a morning "parents and tots" session, an afternoon "senior adult" session (featuring Mrs. E. Kettlewell) and an evening "community" session. The Steering Committee invites any local group, club or organization interested in setting up a table type display at the community session to register by no later than Friday, October 12,1984. Your display can describe or illustrate services, history, membership, and similar themes. Coffee will be served during the evening, compliments of the steering committee. The Saturday, November 3 Community Breakfast will be staged from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Clinton Legion Hall. Breakfast will consist of pancakes, sausages and your choice of beverage. A great way to have fun with your family, neighbors and friends. All proceeds go towards the town hall auditorium equip- ment reserve fund. You should note that town councillors will be serving the meal! ! The Saturday, November 3 "CRSS Cabaret" will be staged at the Town Hall ening events Auditorium from 7:30 .to 9:30 .p,ln, An ex- citing and varied program will be offered by the students of our high school, This event pro ► lses to be one of- the highlights of the Grand Re -Op ring Program.
