Municipality questions costs LUCKNOW - The four municipalities con- tributing to the funding of the Lucknow Medical Centre differed on the sharing of capital costs and the result may be an agreement unsigned by West Wawanosh council. Lucknow council had hoped to alter the original agreement entered into by that municipality, Kinloss, Ashfield and West Wawanosh stating Lucknow would pay 40 per cent of the capital and maintenance costs and the outstanding debentures. The other municipalities each paid 20 per cent. The municipalities each paid 25 per cent of the capital costs when the dental suite was added in 1978. While Kinloss agreed to continue paying the 25 per cent for future capital costs, Ashfield and West Wawanosh maintained the dental suite costs were negotiated separately and the original agreement is still in place. No written agreement has•been•drawn up to establish the terms of the cost sharing, the ownership or the composition of the medical centre board and how the municipalities will be represented on the board. Meetings have been held iia the medical centre parking lot on occasion without a recording secretary. Only since 1983 has Lucknow Clerk Bertha Whitcroft acted as recording secretary for the board consistently. "We're trying to get away from the uncer- tainty as to who pays what," observed Lucknow Councillor Eldon Mann. "The original agreement is 10 years old and needs to be changed." West Wawanosh was asked what would happen if the municipality refused to sigirit. "I guess we withdraw," said Deputy Reeve Gordon Brindley. 4-11 Computer Club The first meeting of the Kippfield 4-H Computer Club was held on September 29 at the home of Leader, Lawrence Beane.
