This historic organ was built in Montreal
by Wadsworth, and was installed lin St.
Paul's Anglican church in 1888, replacing:.
the original melodian. It has been recorded
that the present organ was originally in-
stalled in the Methodist Church in Hespeler,
Ontario, where it was used for approximate-
ly three years. It was still a "pump" organ
when it came to St. Paul's, and the water
pump remains in position in the church
basement. An electric motor was installed
in the organ in 1929, much to the disappoint-
ment of the young boys at the church who
vied for the job of pumping the organ on
Sunday mornings, and received 10 cents for
their services! One of these young lads was
the nephew of Clinton's Dr. Gunn, Ernest
McMillan, who later became the conductor
of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and
was Knighted for his contribution to the
music world.
A warm invitation is extended to all
parishioners and friends of St. Paul's
Anglican Church to attend this annual
Harvest Home Festival Service, followed by
the three dedications.
Prayers were said at McCallum Funeral
Home in Goderich on Wednesday evening,
