Fire destroys barn,.
kills 330 feeder pigs
SEAFORTH - A barn with 330 feeder pigs
caught fire and resulted in the deaths of all
the animals housed in it as well as the
destruction of some feed.
The fire which occurred on the farm of
John Elligsen of RR 4, Walton on September
22, killed the pigs, valued at $26,400, in a
barn rented by neighbor Glen McNichol.
Although some of the pigs were saved they
had to be destroyed because of burns.
Vehicle rolls,
woman suffers
minor injuries
LONDESBORO-Greta St. Louis, 54, of RR
1 Londesboro sustained minor injuries when
her vehicle fish -tailed in the gravel of Coun-
ty Road 15 and flipped over.
The Londesboro woman was heading west
on Sept. 22 about fotir kilometres east of
Highway 4 in Hullet Township, when she lost
control causing $800 damage to her vehicle.

7:55 a.m. on Highway 4 about1.4 kilometres :.

Richard Huta; 37, of Godericli was
beading northbound on Highway 4 and pass-
ing a tractor belonging to Kenneth Roger-
son, 54, of RR 5 Clinton when the accident
occurred.
The Hucal vehicle received $700 damage
and the tractor received $10 damage.
Seaforth Fire Chief Harry Hak said
damages to the barn and the cause of the
fire have not been determined.
BLYTH - The Blyth fire department
answered a call at 3 a.m. Saturday morning
to put out a car fire on Concession 13 in
Hallett Township. The car, which did not
have licence plates, was abandoned and set
on fire. Goderich OPP are investigating the
incident.

at 8 p.m. Members were also reminded that
the Huron -Perth Regional Rally will be held
on October 1 in Brucefield. Registration
begins at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will get
underway at 8 p.m. The Londesboro UCW
has been asked to collect the offering.
The Londesboro UCW will be serving two
banquets next month, to the Pork Producers
on October 25 and the Masonic Lodge on Oc-
tober 26.
For the program, Joan Whyte, Helen
Lawson and Edythe Beacom led in the devo-
tions.
The next meeting was scheduled for Oc-
tober 15.
