The regional rally will be held in
Brucefield on October 1, starting at 6:30
p.m. On October 9 a dessert euchre party
and bake sale will be held at 1 p.m.

Mrs. Hugh Berry was able to return home
from Clinton Public Hospital. Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Elliott of London are spending the
week with her.
Mr. and Mrs. Ron Scott and son of
Willowdale spent the weekend with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Scott.
Alice Ham, who has been visiting with
Wesley and Frances Ham in Huntsville, has
returned home. She was accompanied by
her son.
Mr. and Mrs. David Triebner attended the
Blyth Thres errpen'•e Rennlon on the
weekend. On Sunday the fathilY celebrated
their fatherks birthday 'at. the • Trilple-K
Restaurant a., Blyth.
Mr: and Mrs. Don Moffat and family
returned home recently from holidays. -

returned home, after a Kipp through the,
westernvinces.
Mr. ..and Mrs. Fred McGregor of
Woodstock recently visited with his mother,
Mrs. Gregor McGregor.
Congratulations go out to Mr. and Mrs.
Bob Broadfoot on their 25th wedding an-
niversary. A family dinner was held at the
church hall on September 2 in their honor.

Broadfoot were Eldon and Mary Smith of
Kitchener, Jack and Julia Broadfoot and
family from Thamesford, Jean Provost and
girls from London, Jim and Bev and
daughter from Vanastra, and Dave and

Labor Day weekend with Mrs. Hugh Berry.

SEAFORTH - Tammy McBride, 18, of the
Hamilton Holland Club, was chosen the 1984
Queen of the Dutch Canadian Cultural
nOrganizatton o ;- tario i�n�a meant held inq
Seaforth on -S `tember 8. •
Dianne Nyenhuis, 21, was chosen first
runner-up and Soraya Van Der Mark, 17,
was second runner-up. Dianne was spon-
sored by the•. New Canadian Club of Huron -
Perth and Soraya was sponsored by the Lon-
don Dutch Society Club.
The pageant was sponsored by the New
Canadian Club of Huron and Perth. Each
year, one of the .nine participating clubs
hosts the pageant. 'Other clubs are from
Brantford, Cambridge, Guelph, • Hamilton,
Kitchener, Loudon, Milton and Stratford.
Queen contestants . were interviewed,
were required to give an improrriptu speech
and treated the capacity crotvd at the
Seaforth and District Community Centres to
an evening gown parade. The Klbnipettes of
Clinton presented several dance numbers
throughout the contest. .
Judges were Alf Ross of Seaforth, Bev
Wilkens of Woodstock and Paul Bennett of.

KIPPEN - A shower hostessed by Karen
Kinsman,; Deb Plumb, and Lynn Alderdice
was held on September 9 for Janice McIn-
tosh, bride elect of Garry Alderdice.
Those present were Phyllis McIntosh,
mother of the bride elect, Mona Alderdice,
mother of the future groom, and Rena
Caldwell, the future groom's grandmother.
Also attending were Leanne McKay, Kaissy
Plumb, Michelle • Kinsman, Lisa McKay,
Anne McGregor, Frances Kinsman, Phyllis
Parsons, Marlene Bell, Helen MacLean,
Penny Savage, Mary McGregor, BettyyUp-
shall, Colleen Ferris, Sylvia Mittelholt , and
Margaret Hoggarth. Contests were won by
Marlene Bell, Helen MacLean, Betty Up -

The three , young lasses, . Michelle
Kinsman, Kaissy Plumb, and Lisa McKay,
presented the gifts to Janice, while Mona
• Alderdice placed the bows from the parcels
onto a fly' swatter. Janice McIntosh
graciously thanked the neighbours and
friends for their lovely gifts. Following the
gift presentation a delicious lunch was serv-
ed by the hostesses.

Phyllis, Harold, and Mary Jane Parsons
recently visited relatives in Battle, creek,
Michigan.
Steve Sararas and Jeff McKay held their
third annual barbecue at the farm of Doug
and Leanne McKay on September 8. Steve
and Jeff barbecued a side of beef, proceeds
of which are togo to the cancer research
fund.
Congratulations to Scott McGregor and
Mary Ann Heynsberger who were married
on Saturday, September 8, in St. James
Catholic Church, Seaforth. The couple will
reside in Stratford. Scott is the son of Ron
and Mildren McGregor.
United Church News
Pastor Don Moffat presided in the pulpit
on September 9. The pastor's sermon topic
was "Linger no longer" - Yesterday is
gone'.
The ministry of music was presented by
the congregation singing a new hymn.
