The younger generation also take an active part in the Thresher Reunion. A favorite
competition is the bag tying.
Twenty years ago, steam engines and threshing machines were considered archaic. To-
day the old farm equipment is back in fashion at such events as the annual Thesher Reu-
nion in Blyth. The show started out in 1962 with an attendance of 400. Last year more than
12,000 people took part in the event.
