Midgets finishin good form

VARNA - The midget girls ball team from
this area had a successful season winning in
the regular season with only three losses.
In the .Tri -County League, which involved
teams from Bluevale, Gowanstown and
Monkton, they won two games straight in a '
two out of three play off series. against
Monkton, then defeated Bluevale three.
games straight, by scores of 32-2, 6-5, and 27-
10.
Bruce Horton was their coach, assisted by
Jeff Chuter and Dan • Horton. Team
managers were Sharon Chuter and Marjorie
Hayter.

THE REASONS FOR THE
PROPOSED DESIGNATION
The Gates and, Posts that were
constructed in the 1940's served as an
entrance to the Radar Base and are one
of the. few remaining reminders of the
former Base. The construction and
closure of the base has had a significant
effect on the development of the
Township of Tuckersmith and area.
Notice of objection to the designation
may be served on the Clerk within thirty
days of the 7th day of August, 1984.

wire corn crib removed 150 feet across the
laneway, landing on top of the cultivator.

Storeys take top prizes for food showmanship

MIDDLETON - Communion was
celebrated Sunday morning in St. James'
Anglican Church with Rev. Mary Mills in
charge assisted by Lisa Storey.
St. James' were very pleased to have
Catherine Cornish playing the organ -
James Storey and Don Middleton received
the offering.
The ACW of St. James' Middleton will hold
their September meeting at the home of
Margaret Middleton at 8 p.m. on the 13th of
September. Ladies please bring in your
Zehr's tapes.
The Middleton ACW will be sponsoring a
bus trip to the Toronto Zoo in late
September. If you're interested in taking

received first for horse showmanship, first
for equestrian, third in the parade, first in
musical chairs and first in steady hand at
the Bayfield fair. At Mitchell she took
second in pole bending, fifth in clover leaf.
Bill received third for showmanship, second
in the parade, second for musical chairs.
Charlie Cooper of Midland has been visiting
with Delores and Alvin Dutot and old friends
and neighbours.
Alvin Dutot was off again this weekend to
the Mitchell Fair with his ponies and took a
first, second and third prize. He also took
four prizes at the Bayfield Fall Fair.
Many from the area attended thea 25th
wedding anniversary on the weekend in the
Goderich Township Community Centre for
Marie and Dave Middleton.
