BAYFIELD - Crowds lined the streets,
filled the arena and strolled about the
• grounds during the annual Bayfield Fair..
The route for the parade through the main,
stteets of Bayfield was edged with crowds
enjoying the sunny weather and the variety
of parade entries. Some said it was one of
the best processions in the village.
• The best of local produce was on display
• inside the arena on long trestle tables..
Crafts and hobbies ranging from the tradi-
tional to the not so traditional, from quilting,
through woodworking to photography drew
appreciative perusal. ••
Stands at . each 'end , of :the, ragena sold
refreshments while outside parade entries
were being judged under a variety of
categories and children scrambled after
candies tossed by clowns and other parade
member's.
The matched horse teams held centre
stage for some of the afternoon with judging
of livestock and poultry taking place in cor-
ners of the field.
Next to the arena kiddie rides and the in-
evitable candy floss and paraphernalia
dealers were busy satisfying young con-
sumers.
As one.person said, The Bayfield Fair is
my favorite fair" and the smiling faces
agreed.
