Weather prevents golfers from finishing nine holes The Vanastra Curling Club held their annual two -ball golf tournament last Saturday. The thunderstorm dampened the course, but not the golfer's spirits as they played on despite the weather., Afterwards everyone went back to the club for a corn roast and pot luck supper. The trophy winners were Isobel Theedom and Gary MacKay. Their score was averaged out to 49 after seven holes. Second place was won by Bill Munn and Scott Townsend with an average score of 54. Third place finishers, Faye Mackay and Russ Faber were the lone top finishers who completed nine holes. Their score was 55. Other winnners include: osemary and Ron Sellars, Murray and Ann Adams, John and Gail Brownridge, Len Pheedom, Phyllis and Keith Tyndall, Alex and Murray Townsend, Marlene and Murray Forbes, Claire Cox, Shirley Byers, Barb and George Picot, Marlene Munn, Darryl and Dave Hemmingway and Percy and Mary Brown.
