The park is run by a volunteer organization and funds for its maintenance are raised through special events, including the upcoming Rummage Sale on July 13. On July 13, at.8 p.m., the Pioneer Park Association is holding its. 37th Annual Rummage Sale in the Bayfield Community Centre. The Rummage Sale is one of Bayfield's •biggest and most successful yearly events. Publicity chairman Mark Stephens said that monies raised at the Rummage Sale go towards maintenance and upkeep of Pioneer Park, which is located in Bayfield, overlooking Lake Huron. Over the generations score's of spectacular sunsets have been viewed from the Pioneer Park vantage point. In recent summers the Park's uses have expanded to include volleyball, music concerts and outdoor movies. The July 13 Rummage Sale is a volunteer effort and all items for the sale are donated. The sale features bargains galore including clothing, toys, antiques, books, baking, treasures, garden needs, kitchen ware and furniture. Organizers request that electric appliances are in working order, so buyers can be assured that they're getting their money's worth. .
