Beloved wife of the late Cecil Howard Cart-

prayer.
Mrs. Youngblut reminded the ladies that a
variety sale will be held • after the June
meeting and an invitation wap read from
Calvin Brick United Church to their meeting
on June 6.
Mrs. Garner Nicholson thanked all who

Nine tables were inplay at the weekly
euchre held in the WI Hall on May 9. Win-

man, Frank Thom, There will be euchre

Society meet
Stratford -Huron Presbyterial
Women's Missionary News
Some Seed Fell in Good Soil, was • the
theme of the Spring Happening for the
Stratford -Huron Presbyterial Women's Mis-
sionary Society on May 9. The session was
held at the First Presbyterian Church in
Seaforth.
Dessert and coffee was served during the
fellowship portion of the session. The
fellowship session was field in the sanctuary
and Mrs. Robert McCall of Goderich, second
vice-president of the Society, led the hymn
sing and gave areading.
The responsive devotional was planned
and conducted by the, Arthur Circle of
Goderich. Mrs. Glenda Salter and Mrs.
Marlene Starkey read from the Good News
Bible. The first three verses of If I Trust
Him, were sung.
Mrs. Stuart . Peebles of Atwood,' co-
president of thesociety, had words of
welcome and announced plans for the ,
Presbyterial's 100th anniversary celebra-
tions to be held on October 9, 1984. •
For the special music portion of the
, meeting, Miss Heather Lindsay of Goderich
played two numbers on the violin accom-
panied by Dr. Kathryn Baker, the organist
for Knox Church in. Goderich. .
Mrss. C.H. Edward of Goderich, also co;
president of .the society, introduced the
guest speaker, Miss Arlene Randall who is a
member of the Board of World Missions.
Mrs. Randall, who is home, on leave from
Nigeria, was given a reception in her home.
She showed slides of her work and after-
wards answered questions. She • also
demonstrated the many uses for the over.
skirt. She wore a colorful Ebo outfit for the
demonstration.
The society sanga closing hymn and
prayer. The benediction was performed by
Mrs. Robert McCall. The register was sigh-
ed by 135 women.
A surprise birthday party was held• in the
auditorium of Huronview, Clinton, on:May 6
in honour of Mrs. Melvin Martins's 90th
birthday. Mrs. Martin also was the recipient
of a plaque from the Province of Ontario,
greetings from Prime Minister Trudeau and
the Leader of the Opposition Mr. Brian
