Radars to apply
CLINTON - On May 2 the Golden Radar
Club held its meeting in the Wesley Willis
Church basement. President Muriel Jones
opened the meeting, Cecelia Edgar gave the
treasurers report.
Mary Trick read the flower and cards
report and thank you cards. There were 44
present at the meeting.
The Horizon Committee gave a report on
the furnishing they wish to apply for in a
grant. This was moved by Vera Gibbings
and seconded by Ernie Brown that the group
go ahead and send the application M. The
Shuffleboard group gave the Ontario Street
Church $26 for the use of the Hall. The Club
is sending Minlue Rumball as a delegate to
Huronview hear some toe -tapping music
Monday afternoon got Huronview off to a
good start, as the toe -tapping music of
Marie Flynn and her band of musicians was
presented. Many old favorites and new ones
as well, were' played to an interested and
responsive audience.
1st North ladies and Special Care folk met
in the auditorium Tuesday afternoon. They
were entertained by a solo sung by Edith
Allington and also a solo by margaret Mc-
Queen. Refreshments were served following
the program.
Wednesday was van ride day, and several
residents took advantage of the beautiful
weather ather and went joy riding.
Today Thursday, some residents went to
Walkerton. They were guests of Brucelea.
Haven, where a spring tea and bazaar was
held. In the chapel at Huronview, mid -week
Bible Study was held under the direction of
Mrs. M. Prouty.
Reverend Norman Pick conducted morn-
ing worship in the chapel Sunday. The
message dealt with the continued first
Easter Sunday story. The flowers in the
sanctuary, were place by Rhoda, McKer-
cher.
In the afternoon entertainment was pro-
vided by the Mennonite choir from the
Lakeside community. They went to various
areas of the home, where they presented an
hour of, gospel singing. Residents who• nor-
mally are not able to attend concerts in the
auditorium, especially enjoy this way of
hearing the splendid voices of 'these young
people.
Mrs. Maud Martin• had her 90th birthday
recently and helnina her celebrate it, were

Daniel-Chester-Gliddon___-.___ ._.
A Hullett Township native, Daniel Chester
Gliddon, died at Henderson Hospital in
Hamilton on May 2. He was 83 years old.
Mr. Gliddon was born on June 9, 1900 to
the late Samuel and Ellen Gliddon. He
attended school in Clinton and liyed in the
area and in Gravenhurst before his
marriage to the late Lillian Shoebrook on
March 2, 1922. The couple then lived in
Toronto, Gravenhurst and Clinton.
In Clinton, Mr. Gliddon was a member of
the Wesley Willis United Church.

son Kenneth.
Thirty-eight grandchildren and 37 great
grandchildren survive, along . with two
sisters and two brothers, Violet Manahagn
of Huronview, Carmen of Stoney Creek,
Irene Glazier of Clinton and Bert of Clinton.
He was predeceased by one sister, Mrs.
Glen (Grace) McKnight.
Funeral services were held on May 5 at
the Ball -Falconer Funeral Home in Clinton
with Rev. James Bechtel •officiating.
Interment followed in the Clinton Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dan Gliddon of
Gravenhurst, Elgin Gliddon of Grimsby,
Earl Gliddon of Gravenhurst, Brian Bennett

her three daughters and families, as well as
numerous relatives and friends. Con-
gratulations from everyone at Huronview.
Another Huronview resident has returned
to her home in Goderich. Best wishes go to
Helen Bradley; Helen was popular with the
residents, made many friends and was a
dedicated worker.
Mr. Wilmer Nicholson has come to reside
at Huronview. -
To the family of the late Mr. Jim Fallis,
Huronview extends sincere sympathy.
Next Sunday is Mother's Day, and Huron -
view wishes a very special and happy day to
mothers everywhere. The choir will present
music in keeping with the day. Happy

every year but show a doctor's certificate if

Clinton Public Hospital on Thursday, May 1
in his 75th year.
He was born in Brantford, Ontario to Mi'.

He is survived by his wife, the former
Jean Holtzhauer; eight children, Vernon of
Exeter, Garth of Clinton, Ron of Arkona,
Mrs. Dean (Betty) Fitchett of Thedford,
Mrs. Mel (Doris) Simmons of Calgary,
Graeme of Airdrie, Alberta, and Frank and
Peter of Clinton; 26 grandchildren; and one
great-grandchild.
The pallbearers at the funeral service
were the late Mr. Postill's six sons and the
flower bearers were Jesse and Travis
Postill.
Interment was in Ball's Cemetery.

married in Clinton's Ontario Street United
Church on May 5. Rev Norman Pick
officiated. The groom is the son of Alfred
and Leni Stangen of Wingham and the bride
is the daughter of Henry T. and Marlene
Beer of Clinton. Karen Cooper of Clinton
was the maid of honor and bridesmaids
were Erica Stangen of Hensall, Angela
James of Goderich and Michelle Adams of
Newmarket. Ron Farrar of Kitchener was
the best man and ushers were David Beer,
Allred Stangen and Ken Tambeau, all of
Kitchener. Following a reception at the
Clinton Legion the newlyweds' left on a New
York state honeymoon. They will he living in

Rene Snell. She spent more than 20 years in
Labrador City with her husband and family.
She told her experiences there and of the
growth of the church and schools down
through the years.
In the business portion of the meeting, roll
call was answered by 31 home and seven
hospital calls. The group also received an
invitation to visit Camp Bimini on June 14.
Lunch was served by Ethel McPherson,
Vera Glazier and Bernice Richardson.

CLINTON - On April 18, The Junior
Gardeners held their second meeting of the
year at the Agricultural Office.
There were 18 members present. They

Stacey Reid, Tabatha and Tanya Darrell,
Dawn and Lori Powell, Debbie Draper,
Kara Hiltz, Valerie Van Risen, Ann Tyndall,

peanuts were growing which members
planted at the last meeting. They talked
about buds, and then they each planted a
