The speaker was Mrs. Joyce King of Tottenham, first vice- president of the United Senior Citizens of Ontario (USCO). The new slate of officers was installed for the coming year. Kenneth Knig conducted worship at Carmel-PreS—byteri Church on -Sunday speaking on Chris 's Humility and Greatness. Mrs. Dorothy Taylor presided at the organ. Choir practice will be held on Thursday at 8 p.m. Commencing April 29, church service will begin at 10:15 a.m. The church women and the Arnold Circle evening auxiliary held a successful bake sale and daffodil tea on Saturday. The groups are very grateful to everyone who attended and all who brought donations. The ladies of Carmel Presbyterian Church are invited to First Presbyterian Spring Conference on April 18. In fact, Mrs. Tyndall is a volunteer at the Huron Day Care Centre for the Homebound. This year the centre will award Mrs. Tyndall with a five year pin for her contributions. In another story on volunteering week, it was incorrectly reported that the first president of the Huron County Historical Society was Mr. J.H. Neil of Goderich. While the Huron County Pioneer Museum was founded by Mr. Neil, it is not known who founded the county Historical Society in 1964. Peter Cottontail came to Clinton last week in the form of a story narrated by Alice An- drews, Clinton Public School librarian. Pre-schoolers can hear Alice every week. Cars are to leave our church at 6 p.m. Variousuties for our Coffee Party were read which to be held May 10 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Coffee, muffins, scones, also a bake table and several crib quilts are to be offered for sale. The Thankoffering is to be held on April 29 at Ontario Street Church with Sandy and Judy Stuart as speakers. Leila Webster spoke on plans for a bus trip later. The Unit has worship service and lunch for the general meeting in May. Valena Trewartha moved that a vote of thanks be sent to the General Meeting thanking everyone who helped' to redecorate our kitchen. Vera McGregor introduced the, speaker, Rev. Cheryl Anne Stadelbatier-Samp a minister from Egmondville. She told of her experiences in Zambia as a missionary and of conditions there. A question and answer period was enjoyed by all and everyone en- joyed her experiences. Vera McGregor thanked Cheryl Anne and gave her a donation which she turned back to the treasurer to be given to Mission and Services. Marion added her thanks.
