been originally designated for the mayor.
• Councillor Burgess asked if the building
inspector and recreation director could also
share a desk. Other councillors opposed this
suggestion.
Councillor Burgess went on to say that
fewer desks and chairs would be required if
more employees spent time working on the
job, instead of sitting behind desks.
The mayor replied by saying that in the
past recreation directors for the town had
not worked out because most of their time
was spent at the arena, working with staff
there..
.-"I think they ( recreation directors) were
too close to the action," the mayor said. He
said that the recreation director should not
rte directly or solely involved with the work
of the arena staff, but the recreation
director is in charge of all recreation
programs in town, not only those at the
arena. By using town hall facilities the
recreation director will be more accessible
to the public, he said.

Councillor Ross Carter asked what other
extra expenses -may be expected:
Building committee member Councillor
Bee Cooke said that drapery costs in the
municipal offices andlandscaping of the
complex would be extra expenses, over and
above the construction costs. Extra chairs
for the council chambers and refinishing of
older chairs, she suggested, could -come. at a
later date.
The motion, approving the $7,430 furniture
expense, was passed by cdundl with a slow,
vacillating show of hands.
In other town hall business, the building
committee will be taking a close look at the
new elevator that has been «Installed in the
town hall.
The elevator, strictly designed for the
handicapped. Unlike the familiar electric
systems, this elevatorr operates on
hydraulics. It's smaller than the typical
elevator, with the capacity to handle
approximately one wheelchair and two
people.

Last week work in the Clinton Easter
factory concluded, with hundreds and
hundreds of chocolate treats lining the
shelves. In total more than 950 pounds of
Neilson's milk chocolate wafers were turned
into Easter novelties.
The chocolate creations are all carefully

The creamy, smooth melt -in -your -mouth

and again heating the chocolate wafers to a
