HOLMESVILLE - In Holmesville United
Church Communion was celebrated on Sun-
day morning. The three Johnston sisters
sang with Verna Lobb at the piano.
The UCW Thankoffering meeting will be
held on April 10 at 8 p.m. with the congrega-
tion joining the UCW to see slides on
Australia by Ken Potter, an exchange
teacher from the area.
The Fashion Show held on March 28 in the
Community Centre in Holmesville put on by
Playground Equipment Project- (P.E.P.)
-was -a-great success: Roba--Lobb-welcomed---
everyone to the show and introduced the
commentators from CKNX Janice
Vitrowski at the afternoon show and in the
evening from C.F.P.L., Keith Moriarty.
Bill Steenstra and Neil Wammes dressed
in the tuxedos were hosts at the tea tables.
The goodies at the tea table were made by
Grades 7 and 8 . of Victoria School in
Goderich.
Models for the show were Fran Burton,
Betty Dalzell, Betty Feagan, Nancy Flynn,
Carol Forbes and baby Jason, Penny Hart,
Maxine Johnson, Eiineea Morgan. Della
Rodges, Bonnie Royal, Jean- Seddon, Sue--:
Seddon,Valena Trewartha,. Carol Wammes,
Joanne Wanunes, Jean Wyatt, Patrick Hig-
gins and Jeff Seddon.

were from The Fashion Shoppe, Goderich,
Campbell's Men's Wear in Clinton.
Kidsworld in Goderich and Wuerth Shoes in
Clinton. Hair Styles were done by Les
Ciseaux Deux Hair Shop in Clinton and
make up was done by Mary Kay Consultants
Dianne Dale, Erica Moody, Pat Steenstra,
Cover and Wall design, Sharon Caven.
Door prizes were • donated by area
businesses and 17 prizes were at the after-
noon show and another '17 were given out in
the evening.
The P.E.P. group thank all the volunteers
who contributed to A . Shower of Spring
Fashions '84.
The P.E.P. dance was a success which
was held in the Community Centre in
Holmesville Saturday evening with dancing
to "The Spirits". Winners of the draw were
Wally Pierson of Goderich, Gene Powell of
Clinton and Bonnie Lawrence of Hensall.
Holmesville Nifty Needlers
The 6th meeting of Holmesville I 4-H Club
met on April 2. The meeting opened with the
4-H pledge and members looked at
everyone's special project.
The secretary read hear report and then
members started today's work. They read
through the book and did what they could on
special projects.
The next meeting will be held at Anne

The commentator for the afternoon show
was. Janice Vitrowski of CKNX and for the
evening show it was Keith Moriarty of
CFPL: `Door prizes, eash donations, favors

decorative wall designs.
The show netted about $1500 - for the
,playground equipment. Designed by
Goderich Township resident Sam
Bradshaw, the equipment will cost $15,297
and the PEP committee hopes to have it
completely built by the end of June. A local
contractor will supervise construction and
volunteers--wilL_ helps .witli. the work. The
equipment will be set up at Hoimesville
Public School for maximum use by all
children in the community.
The 'PEP .committee has applied for a
Wintario grant, to pay for one-third of the
cost of the egttipment. They will hear this
month if their application has been accepted
or not.
Besides the fashion show, the committee
has conducted a door-to-door canvass for.
funds in Goderich Township and has sent
letters to' service clubs and other
organizations in both Goderich and .Clinton
asking for donations. This effort has netted
about $6,800. The committee has also held
two dances and is still hoping that more
donations will be forthcoming.
