"Something Good yew, followed by
the singing of the National -Anthem, Mrs.
Elliott Lapp led in prayer followed by the
Lord's Prayer repeated in Unison.
Lettere were read and the secretary's
report was given by Mrs. Elliott Lapp. Mrs.
Garth McCiinetkey gave the financial
statement.
The birthday money for January was
receivedand the draw prize donated by Mrs.
Terry Rutledge was won by Mrs. Marian
Hunking.
Mrs: Patricia Hunking invited the club
members lo her home for the February
meeting. Mrs. • Hunking and Mrs. Rick
Archambault will be the program com-
mittee and Mrs. Leonard Archambault and
Mrs. Roy Daer will be responsible for lunch.
Two new rules were added to the Club
rules.
The autographed quilt was disPussed and
Mrs. Joe Verwey, Mrs, Keith Lapp,Mrs.
Lapp and win. Rick Archamhault
were aPpoInted 10 assist Mrs. Leonard
ArcharnboOlt in the final work before the
quilting Tickets for sale were issued and
sales are to begin in the. community.
. A successful auction sale was held and
then Mrs. Mott Rapp conducted the game,

"What God Knows About Us," was the
theme off Mr. Gary Shuttleworth's sermon
last Sunday morning at Knox United
Church.
The organist was Mrs. Gordon Gross and
she was accompanied on the piano by Mrs.
Marjorie McDougall.
Mrs. Tom Jardin and Mrs. Emerson
Rodger sang a duet, "For You I Am
Praying."

• Lions Club
Auburn and District Lions Club held its
meeting last Wednesday bathe hall with the
dinner served by a United Church Women's
group. The president, Marina Bakker was
in charge.
Plans were made to hold a bingo game on
February 17th. There will be 12 regular
games for $15, three share -the -wealth and
one last game for $50 in 52 calls -
The Leo club asked for a fun clay on
February 12 when a snow ball game will be
played between the Leos and the Lion Club
members starting .at noon. A potluck dinner
for players and their families following the
game will be held in the hall. Following this,
round 2:30, there will be a. hockey game
between the Leos and Lions Club members
on the open air rink.

RELGRAVE - The annual meeting of
Knox United Church ( Belgrave ) was held
following the morning church service on
Feb. 5.
Lewis Stonehouse gave the treasurer's
report that all organizations had completed
a successful year. It was agreed*to accePt
$6,900 as the presbytery objective for the
Mission and Service Fund. The proposed
budget of $36,116 also was approved.
The election of officers was conducted and
the new session members are: Mrs. Ross
Anderson, .Gordon Bosman and Murray
Scott. The newly appointed Board of
Steward members are Mrs. Glen Coultes,
Howard Morton and Leslie Vincent.
The date for the Country Fayre was set for
Saturday, June 23.
A discussion was held regarding a change
to the front entrance of the church but it .was
decided nothing will be done for two years.
The Sunday School superintendent, Bill
Coultes, reported a successful year with an
average attendance of about 60.
The next annual meeting will be held the
last Sunday of Jan., 1985.

Calvin -Brick United Church annual
meeting was held Jan. 30 at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Jim Taylor with 16 members pre-
- sent. Rev. John Roberts opened the meeting
and conducted the business.
The financial reports were distributed and
discussed showing the congregation had
met its obligations for the year.
Election of Officers Stewards who retire
in 1986 were: Murray Shiell, Ronald
McBurney, Wayne Lamb, trustee is Gilbert
Beecroft; UCW representative, Mrs.. Donald
--Dow;---Stintlay-Schnol-Superintendent- -
Donald Dow; Ushers include Ronald
McBurney, Jim McGee, Wayne Lamb, Jim
Beecroft, Stephen Dow, Grady Lamb, Dnr-
cy. Lamb, Jason Coultes, Heather Shiell,
Angela Coultes and Cathy Dow.
The observer representative is Gordon
McBurney; auditors, Mrs. George McGee.

Mrs. Donald Dow, Mrs. Norman Coultes and

A question regarding the heating of the
church was raised. The Board of Stewards
• .:were asked to look into the possibilityof pur-
chasing storm windows or ceiling fans.
Weekly euchre
• Ten tables were in play at the weekly
euchre which was held in the W.I. Hall on
Feb. 1.
Winners were: High Lady, Mrs. Kenneth
Wheeler; Novelty Lady, Mrs., George
Michie; Low Lady, Mrs. Les Vincnt; High
Man, Garner Nicholson; Novelty Man, Mrs.
• Frank Thom. (playing as a man) ; Low Man,
Lawrence Taylor. •
There will be euchre again this Wednes-
day starting at 8:00. Everyone is welcome.
