We have also 'decided to include, if available, a section on families who had settled in Goderich Township prior to 1835 and who still have descendants of the Sur- name es landowners here in 1985. Each family write-up should docurrient the history of the first settler in our township - where he came from, when and where he settled, and some facts regarding his family and descendants. We will have to depend on people con- tacting us regarding such a fiat rather than vice versa, and hope thatanyone connected with such families would phone im- mediately (Alison Lobb, 482-7167, or Phyllis Thompson, 482-9225). We must have these short family write-ups ready soon. Edward and Blanche Deeves are happy to be home again after a very nice seven week holiday in Greenwood, Nova Scotia with Len - and Donna Mills and new grandson Len Jr. The weather was great, we did get rain and on Jan. 25 the ram took what snow was there, away. We had a good look at the An- napolis Valley and all the apple trees and visited the Bay of Fundy at Port George. We also went up the North Mountain and looked down -,oh the Valley. We did see the new powr plant they are building where the tide .. will generate the power. We dined in a restaurant at Digby and watched the tide go out. While in Greenwood we met many people that were stationed here in Clinton and one person asked if the Pickett and Campbell's store was still on the corner. Many didn't know the radar screen was in the centre of - our town. It sure is nice to iae back in Clinton.
