A Patron's List is planned - similar to that
found the back of the 'Belden's Atlas of
Huron • County for 1879. However, only
people who are landowners _and / or
residents in Goderich Township in 1984 will
have their names included. This list must be

so if you qualify and wish to have your name
included you must have your data along
with your purchase price by that deadline.

.We.sIsa 'Wish to. sinify_whether- ex not _you
were born— in Goderich Township.
Appropriate forms may be obtained from
Gerry Ginn (524-4163), Alison Lobb (482-
7167), and Everett Mcllwain (524-8032) and
cheques are to be- made payable to the
Township • of Goderich. Naturally, non-
-residents may...still .purchase„.copies. of our
History book at the lower advance price, but
they will not be included, CO the Patron's
List.
We have also 'decided to include, if
available, a section on families who had
settled in Goderich Township prior to 1835
and who still have descendants of the Sur-
name es landowners here in 1985. Each
family write-up should docurrient the history
of the first settler in our township - where he
came from, when and where he settled, and
some facts regarding his family and
descendants.
We will have to depend on people con-
tacting us regarding such a fiat rather than
vice versa, and hope thatanyone connected
with such families would phone im-
mediately (Alison Lobb, 482-7167, or Phyllis
Thompson, 482-9225). We must have these
short family write-ups ready soon.
We have prepared an alphabetical list of
such surnames from our sources, but if you
feel a name has been missed please let us

Although only reports on 150 -year families
will be included in our main book, we are
already gathering material for a companion
edition. This booklet would hopefully be
printed in July 1985 in time for our big 1-5-0
week (July 17 to 21). We hope all Goderich
Township families will consider submitting
a brief family history for inclusion in this
book. Pages are available which give, you
some idea of the information we hope to see
included. For 'further Information contact
Alison Labb, Alice. Porter, or Jean Lobb
(482-7580).
The next meeting of the History Book
committee will be held February 7th at the
Township Hall at 1 p.m. If you have any
photos, clippings, or other information of
interest relating, to Goderich Township
bring, or send, it along!
'rhe next executive committee meeting
will be held at the home of Bev Orr at 1:15

Edward and Blanche Deeves are happy to
be home again after a very nice seven week
holiday in Greenwood, Nova Scotia with Len -
and Donna Mills and new grandson Len Jr.
The weather was great, we did get rain
and on Jan. 25 the ram took what snow was
there, away. We had a good look at the An-
napolis Valley and all the apple trees and
visited the Bay of Fundy at Port George. We
also went up the North Mountain and looked
down -,oh the Valley. We did see the new
powr plant they are building where the tide
..
will generate the power. We dined in a
restaurant at Digby and watched the tide go
out.
While in Greenwood we met many people
that were stationed here in Clinton and one
person asked if the Pickett and Campbell's
store was still on the corner. Many didn't
know the radar screen was in the centre of -
our town.
It sure is nice to iae back in Clinton.
