On Saturday CHSS held a music-a-thon with the choir, band, girls'
chorus and the ensemble choir taking turns singing and playing
from nine hi the morning to five in the afternoon. The money raised
Metal Health by Quiet Riot
will go. toward the repairing of old instruments as well as the
purchase of new ones and the purchase of new uniforms for the
choir. ( Rod Hilts photo)

To my delight, I discovered that I was
familiar with the music from Metal Health.
The title track (also known as "Bang .Your.
Head") has Veen popular locally; it is
played at dances, school cafeterias and on
CHSS 12. "Cum On Feel the Noise",
originally a hit for Slade in England, has
also been a Huron County hit. Other songs
I've heard from local sources are "Slick
Black Cadillac", and "Let's Get Crazy".
Do any of these ring a bell?
Why has the band's LP been such a
smash? Quiet Riot obviously admires the
work of Kiss and Def Leppard, so much so
that upon hearing "Metal Health" (now a
CJBK New Music Hall of Fame member) I
thought it was a Kiss track. On "Don't Want

pellin style of Loverboy's "Turn Me
Loose '. However, .Quiet Riot .has some
traits of its own. Kevin DuBrow, Carlos
Cavazo; Rudy Sarzo, and Frankie Barran
are all with the beat. Take for example the
rhythmic chuckle on "Bang Your Head": Of
course, Italians have always _been involved
