The sympathy of the communi-
ty is extended to the McNaughton family on
the death of Mr. James McNaughton.
We are pleased to report that Mike Con-
nolly and Alex McBeath have returned to
their homes after a stay in Exeter hospital.
We wishtthem both continued good health.
On Jan. 18 the Kippen East WI hosted a
potluck dinner in Hensall Presbyterian
Church to which the Hensall Senior Citizens
group were invited. The speaker was John

St. Andrew's Chua`ch, Kippen held their
usual service on Jan. 8. Pastor Don Moffat
presided in the pulpit. His sermon text was
"New Start, New Song, New Strength". He
quoted from Erma Hornbeck who said that
she comes into the New Year wearing too
much - old hates, grudges, self-pity, and
prejudices.
Fhe ministry of music was -if the form of a
piano solo by Joanne Consitt. The flowers in
the Church were placed in honor of Jim
McNaughton. There will be a 'choir practice
every Sunday at 11 a.m.,
The "Happy Hour" for boys and girls 7
and 11 years old will be held every Monday
at 7:30 p.m. at Kippen Church. Confirmation
class for adults and students Grades 8 and
higher will run for 10 weeks with confirma-
tion on Easter Sunday. Classes will be held -
on February 7, 14, 21, 28, March 6, 20, 27, and
April 3, 10, and 17. Sunday January 22 - Com-
munion Service at 10 a.m. followed by lunch
at 11:30 with the annual meeting starting at
12:30.

St. Andrew's Church, Kippen, held their
church service on Jan. 15 with Pastor Don
Moffatin the -pulpit. Barbara Cooper presid-. -- --
ed at the organ. The ministry of music was
presented. by the whole congregation sing-
ing a version of The Lord is my Shepherd as
a two -Dart round.
Pastor Moffat's text was "Sick People
Need Doctors" and the sermon topic .was
"Divine Healing."
A reminder again of Jan. 22 being Com-
munion Sunday and the Annual Meeting,
with service at 10 a.m., pot luck dinner at
11:30, and the Annual Meeting at 12:30. Rev.
James Bechtel will preside in the pulpit
along with Pastor Moffat on Sunday.

BRUCEFIELD - The Oddfellows held the
first euchre party of the season on Jan. 13.
The winners were: high - Florence Routzon;
lone hands Marjorie Broadfoot; low, Mrs.
Ernie Brown; Men's high, W.D. Wilson;
lone hands, Art , Alexander; low, Ernie
Brown. Winners of the lucky draws were
Steve Caldwell, and Anna Wilson: •

Following the 'Oddfellows meeting on
Thursday, Mrs. Janet Taylor of R.R. 4, Glin-
ton won the $50 cash draw.
The TuckersmithStanley joint UCW
meeting was held Tuesday afternoon. Mrs.
Marjorie Broadfoot and Mrs. Edna Patter-
son led in the worship starting with resolu-
tions for the new year. Marjorie Broadfoot
and Ruby Triebner were appointed captains
for the' penny contest for the year. Retta '
Baird and. Violet Ross are the card commit-
tees.. There will be a Dutch auction at the
next meeting on Feb. 14.
Mr. and Mrs. Ron Scott and son of
Willowdale spent the weekend with his
parents Mr. and Mrs. Ken Scott.
Mr. and. Mrs. Dennis Hallam and Brenda •
spent the weekend with friends at Trout
Creek. .
Communion service and the : annual
meeting at the United Church will be held on
Jan. 22 with Rev. James Bechtel in charge.
Museum
volunteers meet
The Huron County Pioneer Museum
Volunteers met Monday morning, January
16 at the workshop with 16 people present.
Many projects, were dj cussed,Lo. promote
an interesting scene at the museum in •
Goderich this summer. • .
The Education Project headed by Mary
Ann Dempsey, willhopefully include many
things for school children who will benefit
greatly from the rooms of artifacts at the
museum.
Museum week is May 18 and many ac-
tivitiesare being planned for the children of
the county and their'teachers at this time.
The log cabin on the site of the museum at
110 North Street will be decorated to com-
memorate Canada Week July 1, the Art
Mart July 19 to 22, the Pioneer Weekend
August 12, Labour Day September 3, and
Thanksgiving Day October 8.
The museum is having an evaluation, day
with someone from the Ministry of Culture
i.v•erich to identify any item the public
to have to bring in. The day is tentatively
set for May 18.
The Pioneer Weekend August 10 to 12 will
have a talent•show, food and various crafts ,.
shown which will generate the, participation
of the public.
Anyone wanting to join the volunteer
group at the museum., come to the workshop
the first Monday in March at 10 a.m. or
phone chairman Bonnie Dunn at 5244903.
The Huorn County Museum opens
weekdays April 2, 9 - 4:30 and from May 1
through to October 31 six °SYS a week from 9
- 4:30 and Sundays from 1- 4:30.
